I should clarify up front that I’m rating Parthenon for its supermarket section rather than its cosy little cafe/deli section.Known for Mediterranean and Greek groceries, Parthenon boasts a huge variety of good quality grains, sauces, meats, cheeses and olives, among other things.I like that it has a little cafe next door that you stop at if you get too hungry during your grocery run! They have lots of different offerings, from small snacky things like pita and hummus, chicken wings, pot pies, to meal sized portions of baked chicken and rice, butter chicken, a variety of salads and a soup of the day (for only $3!). I wasn’t really feeling hungry when I crossed it, so I didn’t eat at the cafe, but I did end up buying some of their olives (and a bunch of other things) for later and they were pretty good, and very fairly priced. I would love to try food from their cafe next time!
Oh wow this place is amazing. There’s a huge selection of deli meats. Best feta in town by far it’s so fresh. They have a setup where you can also take a break and eat, chat, drink. There’s a cranky older lady there but you’d be cranky too if you worked so hard all day. The bakclava is delicious… Definitely share or buy the bakclava rolls and cut them into pieces if your not into too much sweets. They are delicious, especially on your day off, man…and the dolmades and houmus dear heavens…The supermarket is big and has a amazing selection of Greek products. Definitely check this place out. Vancouver is lucky to have a joint like this! One of a kind indeed.
