Food was very good one night (especially the prawn salad) but the same dish was differently executed (they seem to have forgotten the dressing, fewer prawns too and not as well cooked) and very mediocre the next time.
Went for dinner tonight, hadn’t been for a long time, don’t remember it being so bland. Would rather take my chances at Chipolte’s for some flavour.

It’s changed.. Went to Topanga today and hadn’t been for a long time. The service was good – the waiter was very busy but was doing his best to keep up with all the diners. Problem for me was the food – not very tasty at all. I had chille rellanos and it was quite bland – it also came topped with sesame seeds which was a disappointing surprise. My friend’s burrito was also smothered with sesame seeds. Never seen that before and scraping off the seeds meant also removing a lot of the cheese. Very strange.
Terrible food – absolute ripoff! They didn’t include meat on my item And when I inquired they claimed the chef thought I wanted eggplant – the problem is that there was no eggplant!!! It was very clear to me that they did not have the shredded beef I had ordered and they churned out my item thinking I would not notice – while charging me close to $20 for some lettuce, beans and rice. Horrible – will never return. Way overpriced and very poor quality!
Overpriced, dirty plates, dirty restaurant, unappetizing. The food was awful :/
Love Topanga. I’ve been going to Topanga for years. The food portions are very generous and always hot. It’s more Tex than Mex, not very spicy but more savoury. They make their own chocolate cake every day. I look forward to every visit and if the line up is too long (the places isn’t very big) I just do a take out order.
