Recently moved into Port Moody and decided to try this with the wife for dinner. In short: wouldn’t come back. Everything here is just barely acceptable in quality (food, cleanliness, ambiance) but charges the average price of most sushi places. So for the same money might as well drive a few minutes away (for example Sushi Town) and get better value and in some cases way better tasting.
I have been coming to Namoo Sushi with family and friends for the past 10 years. My daughter and her friend went there last night for some sushi and had a very unfortunate experience. A new server ignored them for most of the night, in fact, they sat with only water and tea for almost 45 min. Once they finally got the attention of the new waitress, she (admittedly) forgot to place their order. It was a simple order, a few sushi rolls and some tempura… They waited another half hour for their actual order to come to their table, meanwhile, everyone around them was getting their food. At the end of the night, when they brought the situation to the person in charge, they were offered a measly 10 percent off and some miso soup to go!! I called last night to speak to a manager/owner and was told nobody was there. I called today to speak to a manager on call and was told that the owner was indeed there and was also there last night, that he is one of the sushi chefs!! They refused to do anything else to rectify this situation. Any other restaurant, The Keg, Millstones, Browns, under this circumstance would at least have comped a meal or something. Horrible service and terrible customer service. You have lost a long time customer. SO disappointed.
Discrimination and refused to serve visually impaired customer. Will never enter this restaurant again due to discrimination against a visually impaired customer with guide dog. It is against the law to deny service. This will be placed all over media/Facebook. Shame on you.
Let down. Came for lunch. We asked for the window booth, the lady hesitated…not sure why as the place is nearly empty. We ordered the sashimi lunch box, the roll box and katsu lunch along with Ebi Mayo. The beef teriyaki in the lunch box was chewy, way too much MSG and the katsu was soaked in some sort of gravy. The rice on the sushi was too mushy and the sashimi was not the freshest. We will not be back.
Atmosphere and food is great but the service is a bit slow it might have to do with only two waitresses.. They’re nice but slow. The food is definitely fresh and delicious!
Decent place. Food quality was good, place is usually not that busy but it’s worth a visit.
My husband and I are always in search of the best Sushi restaurants. Namoo definitely did not disappoint! Love the Tako Yaki, the Tuna Sashimi is fresh and thick and delicious, and there are countless variety of rolls to choose from! The prawn tempura wasnt the best but the gyoza were good. After ordering more from this menu than from most any Sushi restaurant menu before, the bill still came to just over half of what we have paid in some other places of similar style. We have been back 3 times and look forward to our next visit:)
