Delicious! The candy bacon burger was very messy but love the charred taste. The garlic toast bun and candy bacon was to die for. Also the fries were not just a side but tasted like food truck homemade fries. They also have vinegar on the table which is a plus for me. Went at 5pm on a holiday and it was a bit slow with an older crowd. Service was good
Hot Wings. Hot sauce has jalapeos in it! Yum! Wings are huge with lots of meat but not as crispy as I like. I got 9 wings for $12.
The first 2 times I went, the service was slow and the food was average or a bit dry. However, I did give it another go & was pleasantly surprised with a fantastic irish guiness stew! It was jam packed with thick chunky ingrediants. Id go again with friends
The BX is a fantastic pub! Great atmosphere, the staff is great, always friendly and efficient! The food is always good, best Fish, Chips and Chowder I have ever had, the home made beer batter is sensational, the Beef Dip is another favourite, and a great selection of appys! The quality and quantity of food you get for you $$ is awesome, money well spent and always leave satisfied! Reading some of the other reviews, one criticism that stood out from, from a very long drawn out life storey was that the prices were uncomparable…… I thought that the BX was owned by the same owner of the majority of pubs in PG…… The prices are very comparable, maybe even the same…….. Criticizing a pub on your own personal life choices seems a little unreasonable and irrelevant! Keep up the good work BX, always a pleasure 🙂
Terrible service.
Went here on a slow night, when there were maybe 5 other tables. We ordered 5 appies and some beers. The beer was the bottom of the keg so it was flat; after asking to have them pour it again it was still flat. 30 mins into waiting for our food the waitress said ‘it’ll be right out!’ 30 mins after that, she says ‘they’re just plating it now!’ 20 mins after that it finally arrived. Seriously, an hour and 20 minute wait for some appies?? No thanks, I’ll go elsewhere.
I ordered the ham and pineapple pizza for lunch, it arrived still partially frozen inside (I guess they are not made on premises or fresh). They took it back to the kitchen and when they brought it back it was soggy and wet… DON’T ORDER PIZZA HERE!
