Was greeted warmly right away, and seated. Food was perfectly cooked and artfully presented. It was fresh and delicious. The restaurant is neat, clean and tidy. Big big portions! Two people can share one meal. I definitely recommend this place. Super!
Good evening! I was in for …. Good evening!I was in for dinner on Thursday night!I had the prawn tempura as an appetizer and the Tokyo combo! This contained beef tenderloin, scallops! The prawn tempura was probably the best I have ever eaten! The Tokyo combo was very good! Excellent beef cooked rare! Very tender. The scallops were small but very tasty! The place setting came with chopsticks and fork! Nice touch as I have a couple of broken fingers and can’t use chopsticks! The service was good however a fair bit of background noise made it difficult to hear the waitress! The grill master put on a good show with lots of flames! Impressive!I have been to Japanese steakhouses many times in Toronto, Edmonton, Chicago and Tokyo!I find it rather strange to see I travelled so far for excellent Japanese steakhouse food!Shogun truly is a gem! Definitely worth a visit and a repeat visit!
Good enough. Not sure how to review this one to be honest. The food was fine, service was fine, atmosphere was fine to. Could use more comfortable seats, and the price was a little higher than might be expected, but overall it was okay. I will go back, not tomorrow, as I feel no need to rush back to the Shogun, but yes I will return. Overall my rating is a 7 out of 10.
Terrible food, overpriced.. The $27 I spent on my bento box would have been worth it for superb food and wonderful service. Unfortunately I got neither of those. The grilled tuna was disgusting and tasted off, and so only took one bite and left the rest. The perks of the box were the sunomono salad, the miso, and the grilled beef teriyaki. The rest was unfortunate. The service was slow, even though there were only 4 people that I could see in the whole restaurant, it took ages for simple things like taking a drink order and paying my bill.I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who has other options. It serves me right for being lazy and not leaving the Coast hotel on my pass through town….
Marginal sushi. The cooked food is cool and the little show is always interesting. Plus the at the table cooks always have a great personality. On the down side the sushi is marginal and expensive and the table service can be downright painfull.
Best Japanese Food In Prince George. Great teppanyaki and tempura. Friendly atmosphere, great for buisness
Not Worth It. Mediocre food and service. Had the teppanyaki, where they cook it at the table. The chef was entertaining, but the succession of food was so slow: eat four prawns… wait 10 mins… eat five pieces of beef… wait 10 mins… and then at the end he slopped a pile of onions onto my plate. Flavours were OK – I expected better for $30. The bento box looked tasty, but it also cost $30. Seriously? Oh, and then we had to line up like cattle to pay. Recommended only for entertaining business clients .
