Food was great! Service was good, not overly friendly just enough. Place was really clean as well as the washrooms. Stopping here every time we pass through town now.
They Are Licensed!. Than Vu offers a good assortment of vegetarian options along with a ton of seafood, beef and chicken dishes; nothing will blow your hair back but everything I had was prepared well, fresh and tasty. Red curry dish that menu listed as spicy wasn’t really spicy at all but spice heat can be hard to predict and varies by personal taste. Oh, and they are licensed to serve wine, beer and hard liquor even though their website doesn’t mention that.
The spring rolls were great, Pho bowls had great broth and noodles but the meat was overcooked in comparison to other Vietnamese soup houses. Great and friendly service!
Disappointing!. We had lunch at Pho U& Me the day prior to eating at ThanhVu. I think that was our first problem – we now had the bar set high in our minds for Vietnamese food! I only chose ThanhVu because they had a lot of tofu, vegan friendly dishes. I ordered spicy hot red curry, and it was hardly spicy at all. The service was typical, and the atmosphere was good….But we got a to go order, and the food was again mostly lacking spice and flavour. I ordered the curry as hot as they could make it, and it didn’t make me bat an eye. I like spicy food, but this was hardly spicy at all. I will not be back, but I definitely recommend the service, atmosphere, and food at Pho U&Me over this .
Would Eat Here Again!. I have enjoyed the majority of the dishes I’ve had here… Except this one time a couple months back where I ordered the red curry chicken. They somehow messed my order up and brought out a red curry seafood. OK, NOT what I ordered, but I just hate sending food back! So I ate it, but then quickly realized the curry tasted familiar… Like Dawn dish soap. Not that I’ve ever consumed dish soap, but when you know you’re tasting cleaning product, you just know. The soap curry got sent back and I had a much tastier dish cooked up for me in no time. Nevertheless, I’d still eat here as (1) my positive experiences still outweigh my one negative experience, and (2) at least it was the taste of soap – something clean, as opposed to something undercooked or finding an object in my food.
Fresh, fast and delicious.. All the dishes I have had at this restaurant are great. The Garden Curry is amazing and I love the tofu hot and sour soup. The portions are very generous. One dish will feed me for at least two meals. I have never had bad food here and never waited for long for food to come out. Thanh Vu is truly one of the best restaurants in Prince George.
Miss it when I’m gone. Whenever I leave Prince George, I start craving Thanh Vu spring rolls – they’re awesome. I agree the Pho isn’t great but certainly not the worst I’ve ever had. Try the peanut chicken and if you’re there for lunch, it’s not on the menu but they’ll make it for you anyway.
