My family of three went to the Copper Pig on a Wednesday afternoon it wasn’t busy with quite a few tables and booths so available we requested a booth. The hostess said they don’t let people with with less than 5 in a party sit at the booths and then proceeded to seat us right beside a party of 3 in a booth. Upon looking at the menu we noticed the prices had skyrocketed since the last time we were there. Everything was a minimum of $18. We left and went to the Keg which is only a block away. Will never go back or recommend. Food was ok previously but no longer worth the price and portions are small. My husband is usually still hungry after his meal.
TerribleThe food was not good, the drinks that we ordered (homemade iced tea) tasted like peaches which my mother is very allergic to, the restaurant was empty, there was nothing there that I don’t make better at home. On top of all that I got food poisoning so not a very enjoyable experience at all.
This little piggy has left the market…. hmm not sure which direction this place is going, dry, and overpriced, if I’m going to order a platter of $28 smoked meat, it should melt in my mouth, as someone who raises my own homestead meat, I think it’s only fair to respect the animal, if you gonna eat it , it better taste amazing, instead I was left with a dry thistle like texture in my mouth, so let me just say little piggy ( and cow… and chicken) I’m sorry your death didn’t end in mouth watering goodness.
We went here on a Saturday night and were expecting big things after hearing such great reviews…well we were mighty disappointed! The food was good but I’ve had much better BBQ before. Not worth the $!!
Dissapointed. I got a bowl full of onion CHUNKS with two over sized sliced of peppers and tiny bit of meat and less rice than I got onion. The sauce was good but not enough of it. I will not go back I’m not paying that much for a bowl of onions. Service wasn’t so great either.
Burnt ribs. I ordered ribs and they came completely black on the back side. Informed waitress and she just laughed. I will not be eating here again.
A Prince George treasure. Prince Georgers ought to be pretty pleased that we have an eatery of The Copper Pig’s calibre in town, and from the looks of it, I think we are. From the looks of the dining room at nearly any given time I think it’s safe to say PG is in love with gourmet BBQ. This is now my go-to suggestion for out-of-towners, and I would say it’s my favourite non-Asian restaurant in town. The atmosphere is great, the owner is super dedicated to being in downtown Prince, and the food is fantastic! I highly *highly* recommend getting the George St. Platter; it’s a sharing dish probably good for four (though my brother and I have put one down on our own more than once) that will give you a taste of everything TCP is, or will soon be, famous for. The drink menu is a real standout, too: it’s got a cool retro-chic vibe from some old-school cocktails balanced with some original infusion options, plus an all-BC craft beer list that will impress hipsters and local boys alike. The mason jar portioned pineapple iced tea is a great non-alcoholic option. What I like most about TCP is that it can please rednecks and beatniks alike without compromising its image. It is just an outstanding eating establishment that I cannot recommend highly enough. Phone ahead; it’s busy for a reason!
