This is also a review of the Pizza Hut experience in general, but that also includes the experience from this place. Some years back I ordered one of those cheese stuffed-crust things, with pepperoni I think. The cheese in the crust was firm like those rubbery mozzarella cheese string snacks if you’ve ever had those. Completely unmelted and apparently untouched by any heat even though the rest of the pizza was cooked. It was pretty unimpressive, the first and last time I ever tried stuffed crust. It was also the -stinkiest- pizza I’ve ever had in my life. I don’t know why a pizza needed so smell like that but that cheese made the entire house reek.So okay, that experience turned me off Pizza Hut for a long time, largely due to the smell. Stuffed crust was disappointing but that smell, dude…Some years later I’m over at my friend’s house in Chilliwack. And we order a few mediums around the time they had come out with some new specialty toppings like roasted garlic, double smoked pepperoni, and some other stuff. So we got those two as well as a poutine pizza and a butter chicken pizza. Pizza party, baby. Hadn’t had one of those since I was a kid.So alright. The smell again. Good to see they were still using that wicked funky Cold War-era cheese. But whatever, we were hungry so we chowed down. I tried one piece of each.Double-smoked pepperoni was great ’cause I love me some pepperoni. That extra smokiness was real nice.Roasted garlic is the most obvious dang choice for any pizza in any pizza place and it’s a wonder that nobody has it as a topping. It was tasty and great. The poutine had the driest most reheated-from-two-days-in-the-fridge fries I’ve ever had and was awful. I refused to eat another piece of that low quality garbo. The butter chicken pizza was really boring and I was disappointed.Pizza Hut could do with a Domino’s sorta reinvention of itself. It’s not especially awful but considering the price and distinct lack of quality it immediately becomes less appealing than all the other options out there.Especially with that unforgettable stink. When I was a boy I spent a bit of time in a pizza place. Got to smell, and then eat, fresh pizzas right out of the oven. One of my favorite and most unforgettable experiences as a kid.Cheese pizza sounds pretty unappealing to some folks but let me tell you, right out of the oven… best thing. And then we’ve got Pizza Hut over here competing for your attention with mozzarella that reeks worse than limburger. I dunno.. maybe it’s not the cheese but more the cheap oil the use. Or overuse. That stuff is -doused-.But yeah, no thanks.

Never ever accept a credit from Pizza Hut, unless you are using it the second it is given to you. Don’t count on that credit being on your account when you go in some other time. Also, if your a walk in customer, keep an eye on the people boxing up your food, they like to pick at everything. I should be the only one eating the food I order. I give a big fat 0 on the service, but the food is about a 3/4 most of the time.
