I ordered the veggie chow mein – 100% do not recommend. It was flavourless, the sauce was too thick and had sticky texture. didn’t live up to expectations especially for a rating of 4.2. Although the flavour was distasteful, you do get a lot of food for what you pay for it.
personally did not enjoy the food. My meal was way to salty and greasy. I would never visit this place again for tasty and great tasting Chinese food. i would not recommend…
Decided to try a different place than where we usually go .So we Ordered take out from wah wing and was very disappointed. For the price you are paying you get hardly anything. We wont be going or ordering from here again.
food has always been good here. probably the best chinese food in poco. only issues are waiting over an hour for delivery and they aren’t open late enough. and they REALLY need some combos for delivery.
Typical chinese take out joint. Can not compare to richmond, burnaby and downtown but for the burbs its not bad and out of the options perfer it over skydragon, happys and whatever resturant pops up next to little cesars on prarie.
Wah Wing has been a gem in Coquitlam for Szechuan style food for the last 20 years.Weve going there years since they opened and it always been phenomenal food quality and service.I went there last week for a family get together. We various different dim sum dishes as well as xiao long baos & hot and sour soup (large). Being a Shanghai style restaurant, these are their signature dishes.Xiao long baos when are basically dumplings with soup inside. Needless to say, the Xiao Long Bao were disappointing!! .there was NO soup inside. The frozen Xiao Long Bao you buy at your local T&T store is significantly better and cheaper. A frozen bag of 20 dumplings will cost you $8.The large bowl of hot & sour soup was not hot & sour soup with sour component missing. We explained it to the waiter and he took it away immediately and replaced it with a smaller bowl. The replacement smaller bowl was very good. We confirmed with the waitress that the replacement bowl of hot & sour soup was a small bowl and asked her to ensure our bill reflected the change from large to small.Sure enough, when the bill came after lunch I was still charged for a large bowl of hot & sour soup and not a small bow. I asked the waiter why I was charged for a large bowl of hot & sour soup when we received a small replacement bowl of soup. He said, We served you 2 bowls of hot & sour soup (large and small) and youre only getting charged for the large one. Youre getting a deal because Im not charging you for the small bowl. .hugh! Yes, you read it right! Wah Wing felt is was acceptable to charge us for the large bowl of hot & sour soup when we got a small bowl of hot & sour soup. Based on what weve seen the past few times weve been there, the owners no longer really care about the authenticity of the food nor the food quality…….food court quality! If youre looking for authentic xiao long baos there are much better restaurants in the Coquitlam area.
If you like Szechuan then you WON’T like this. This food is worse than food court Chinese food. It is salty, oily, and bland. Save your money and go somewhere else.
