This is one of the best Vietnamese eating experiences I have had. The trendy restaurant is viby and abuzz.the service was slick and efficientWe salected 5 dishes from the menu and for the 4 of us this was more than enough. Will be back..
We did not want to wait for a table as we had 5 people in total. We ordered takeout instead. We knew that all of their dishes were delicious that we had a hard time to choose what we would like to order and eat. We ordered chicken wings, vermicelli brow with grilled chicken, Vietnamese crepe, the platter, and beef wok fried rice with a fried egg. All of them tasted great. We just felt the Vietnamese crepe and fried rice were a bit greasy and I personally felt that there was quite a lot of MSG in the fried rice; otherwise it would not taste that great. People who live in Vancouver should know that there is only street parking if you come here for meals. Usually we have to wait for a table, so if you don’t mind to order takeout, you can enjoy the food at home. This restaurant charges at a higher price on the dishes, but their quality, colours, smell, flavour, and presentation are better than other Vietnamese restaurants. Anyone that I know and that they have been to this restaurant always says good things or have good compliments about the food. I have not heard of anything bad yet. The restaurant has done a great job on interior design. The interior design matches the Vietnamese ambience and food as well. I wouldn’t mind to come here for lunch or dinner, but I should come when they just open at 11am or around 4 or 5 pm.
Wow! I love it here! At first I thought its one of those fusion place which looks hip and funky and not much substance in terms of food quality, but I shouldnt be too quick to judge the book by its cover- this place is great! We ordered some beef skewers and chicken skewers for kiddos, it has a nice chargrilled flavour to it. My grilled pork noodle salad w prawns and spring rolls tasted amazing and the salad is so fresh and the herbs went so well with it.We also ordered stir fry greens which is super yummy as well. I ordered the gin cocktail which was very refreshing and highly recommended. I think its called Hoang something. pigouttravels.wordpress.com
My experience today was unacceptable. We sat down at 5:55 pm and our food was not ready until 7:00 pm. All we ordered was two plates of lemon grass chicken on rice. Where a normal Vietnamese restaurant would have that ready in less than 10 minutes. The restaurant was not fairly busy at that time. Not to mention that it took the blonde short hair waitress 15 minutes to even serve us water. And it seemed like she did not even want to. Later to find out that the waitress did not even put in our order…. what a waste of time. Would not recommend this place anymore. Their food might be a little better than average but its only because of the environment. They are charging high prices for us to eat mediocre Vietnamese food in a better than average setting. Thank you for the hospitality.
I do enjoy going here! Cocktails are good, ambience welcoming and food delicious. Ive been here so many times and the food has been consistently delish. One of my favorite places to go on my own for lunch and with my family for dinner
This is not your regular pho place. Its a modern Vietnamese restaurant that executes both taste and design. We ordered the spring rolls and the DIY Street platter along with the tossed noodle. We didnt try any of the classic dishes like pho noodles but there will be a next time. The DIY Street platter was a lot of fun! It comes with rice paper and rice paper is both delicious, messy and hard to make! Just as the name says, its DIY, you can either use rice paper or lettuce or both to wrap your vermicelli noodle, skewers or spring roll. It is the ultimate hands-on dish. I would say its also a must try if its your first visit. Spring rolls are my favourite and I like how they offer it with lettuce. The way you enjoy it is to wrap the spring roll with lettuce, and this gives a different taste to it. Its a balanced flavour because you have something deep fried but neutral on the outside. Overall, I had a great experience. It is aesthetically pleasing and relaxing to sit down for a meal on the weekend with friends.
Would not recommend. Their location and interior design has lots of people coming in and out. Went for lunch ordered Spring Rolls, Banh Mi, and Khay Banh Hoi Lui Nuong. Horrible service, server was rude and just did not care. Food was greasy and not flavorful. There are better restaurants with better service, taste and bang for your buck.
