I went there to celebrate birthday dinner with best friend and we only ordered few appetizers and our favorite cheese fondue. The service was very good and we love cheese fondue and will go back again for sure. Must try their appetizers such as escargot and scallops!!
The owner is passionate about his cuisine and his restaurant 🙂 Great food and friendly people there! I’ve been there twice, both time having their Burgundy Fondue…. soooooo good!!! 😀 The wine soup base tastes excellent and the 5 different sauces are awesome, superior, marvelous! They are 1) Mayo, 2) Tomato Cognac Cream, 3) Soya Ginger, 4) Garlic Pesto, 5) Tarragon Pepper Cream!!!! Some herbs are grown by the owner himself!
I thought the menu, wait staff, and food was good. There was no fuss and the food was what you’d hope for from honest french cuisine. Above all, the restaurant was not noisy – we could converse and savour food at the same time.
This place is great!! Good food and the owner or server was just so kind and lovely. You can tell that they really care about what they’re doing there.
I ranked them not because of the food, but because they were so empty that it was actually nice and quiet and my friend and I could hear each other. We ordered 2 eggs with sausage just to be safe. Our first impression was that the portions were tiny, yes, small size eggs if you can still buy those. But the sausages were actually missing from the plate and the waiters didn’t notice. We alerted the waiter who brought them on a separate plate, the sausages were tough, nothing like Oyama Sausages. Our half portion of nioise salad was uneventful. I really dislike it when restaurants take the lazy way out and serve organic garden mix. You can buy that from amy grocery store, why would you want that when you eat out?! It should have been nice butter lettuce. The brown toasts were airy and light, did not come with jams. We both agreed that La Cigale Bistro is still our favourite.
Went there & pretty empty. Food was tasty but VERY tiny portions. Service bad with the waiter seeming very disinterested, like why are we here annoying him attitude. Prices high for what they offer.
Awful. I’ve eaten a lot of French food over the years, most often on my numerous visits to various regions in France in the past (so yes, I’ve been spoiled). I’ve also had some perfectly respectable French food here in Vancouver. However, if you’re looking for something good then steer clear of this place. I took my wife and daughters to The French Table. The starters were passable at best. My cassoulet had clearly been cooked not as a single oven-baked casserole but rather as grilled sausage and duck placed over separately baked white beans. My wife’s coq au vin was bland and my childrens’ steak frites (listed as a new york cut) was a gristley thin cut. Don’t even get me started on the deserts. If you’re a foodie and you like decent French food stay away.
