How did the hipster burn his tongue? He drank his coffee before it was cool.Ha!Anyways…from the outside it doesn’t seem like much and the drinks on the menu were pretty typical drinks that you could find at any coffee shop. I got the Mocha Glacier (cute name) simply because it is blazing hot outside. Then I asked the woman at the front who I assume was the owner of the place what she recommended in terms of the pastries. She suggested the cinnamon roll and said it was everyone’s favorite but then I scrunched up my face and explained that I was allergic to cinnamon. After describing a few things that were behind the glass case she placed a blueberry coffeecake on a plate and handed it to me. Pretty delicious, I suppose. Nothing spectacular. Then I walked towards the back where there was a large seating area with wooden chairs and tables and booths. On the walls were a variety of artwork, mostly paintings and underneath each one there’s a price tag. All in all, I like the ambiance of the place but it’s not worth the trek all the way over to Vancouver.
Super bitter coffee and barely anyone in the place. I was shopping at Windsor next door and was too lazy to go anywhere else for coffee. Bad mistake wasting my money on shite coffee. The cookie was decent and the lady that helped me was super nice. Shite coffee, decent cookie.
Great mistos!. I know that a misto is pretty difficult to dissapoint, but I had ordered mine with soy and the milk was perfectly creamy and steamed, something I have had trouble with in the past. The barista seemed to take such care making it. I also noticed how quiet it was, perfect place for reading, or taking a breather.
Used to come here alot for coffee + cramming. great place for students. haven’t been here in years tho so dunno if its gone downhill since then.
The owner was absolutely rude! The coffee terrible, and the place is grungy! I don’t recommend it to anyone!
Some good, some bad. There are some good elements to this place, the main one being that it is open 24 hours. The drip coffee is not bad but if you want a specialty drink its not the place to go. My latte was overheated and tasteless. I like the vibe at The Grind though and I love that they have a piano in the back that people can play. Its a very relaxed atmosphere and has a lot of room to hang out. If you’re looking for a good place to sit and read with a coffee, this is the place to go. If you’re looking for a great coffee experience then you may want to walk a block down to Salt Spring Coffee.
