Quant spot, very serene and picturesque. Perfect place to enjoy the sun and do a little bit of people watching. Excellent pastries, and solid coffee. Recommended for days when you just want to sit and enjoy your coffee. ourfoodadventure.tumblr.com

The baked goods tasted very good. The latte was only ok for me. The latte was not as well as the one at Le. Marche St. George Cafe. I personally felt that their coffee beans were not very fresh, so the flavour of the latte was not the best. This coffee shop is located at the residential area. There is street parking. The coffee shop gives people a warm feeling. They sell others types of food such as pies and others at the same time. It is quite unique in that neighbourhood.

This is yet another one of a few tucked away Vancouver neighbourhood cafes and mini grocery stores. Located along a lush greenery of W18th, it is a delightful place to visit on a sunlit summer day. Their Americano is very pleasant and comes with a little baked treat, just enough to satisfy the sweet craving.

Wonderfully cozy neighbourhood gem tucked into the shade along quiet W18th. Great coffee, good pastries. A little short on parking but otherwise it’s pretty much perfect. Love the place all round

Small but cozy. The day I visited with some rain and sunshine too. Great service, good Americano and small cookies make this Friday my best spring Friday ever.

Home of hands down the best latte I have had in my entire life. Having experienced the best coffee that the Pacific Northwest, Germany and New Zealand have to offer I can honestly say they just don’t measure up to The MIghty Oak. I’m not sure if it is the dairy they use, the beans they buy or the techniques employed but there is magic in every cup served at 198 W 18th Ave. BONUS you get great little shortbread cookies with your latte. Be prepared to wait a bit when you arrive as it is almost always busy and they really take their time to craft your drink. But just like the saying goes, good things come to those who wait.Having had the opportunity to work at The Mighty Oak this past spring(2013) I can say with absolute confidence that John and Heidi are the best employers I have ever had. Not only do they care about their store, their products and their customers. They care about their employees and it shows. In the short time that I was employed at The Mighty Oak I had two personal incidents, both of which conflicted with my work. Two weeks after starting I had a death in the family resulting in me having to leave for 10 days. I called John who was compassionate and incredibly patient, telling me to take all the time I needed. And that time made all the difference to me and my family. The Mighty Oak is quickly becoming a pillar of the community, but more importantly, the benchmark for small business practice in Vancouver.Ethics, great coffee and great people make for a world class experience.
