Best fish and chips I ever had. Being from Winnipeg, I was reluctant to post an opinion as I did not hnow if this quality is normal in Victoria but since then I have determined this is truly great fish…. juicy and tender, great old English style batter and handcut fries as well. The cod was a foot long, and we had the good luck to go when it was a special… friendly service too.
Went in for Wednesday wing night . We ordered blue moon, honey garlic, dry garlic. I thought the wings were pretty tiny, but i tend to be really picky about wings. The staff was all really friendly and helpful, its a family restaurant more than a pub.
Went here last night for a late dinner. Had the honey hot wings ( good) and the 5 alarm hot wings ( wasn’t impressed how NOT spicy these were) although they were all a nice size. The server, seemed to be really cold and not friendly for the duration of our service but he did remove the steak off my bill due to me finding a hair in it.
It’s a cozy place with solid pub food. We got the sweet chili wings, perogies, and half order of nachos which was more than we expected! Everything tasted good and the staff was friendly.

Nope. Just nope.. Having heard from friends how awesome this place was, we ventured there for Mothers Day brunch. Tried it again today. My review covers off both experiences. Great staff and pretty good service. A bit lacking on Mothers Day, but it was a little busy and drinks were forgotten. Today, no complaints about service. Server was great and friendly. The food however, was just not anything I desire to experience again. They seem to rely on seasoning on everything. I have tried dishes with chicken and beef. Didn’t enjoy either, but the ground beef I had today did not have the consistency of actual hamburger. The chicken is more like formed chicken. Fries also covered in Lowry’s or some similar seasoning salt. Bleah. Veggies in my salad were good though. Maybe I am a food snob, but I just can’t spent $15 on a dish that is pretending to be high quality food. If I’m spending that much, I will take my business to a restaurant that serves actual food. Sorry 1550s. I did want to like you. Maybe your breakfast is better? Can’t take the chance.
