This is the cheapest place for your spice collection and if you are making Indian for dinner, an excellent spot to pop in and pick up fresh naan made to order! The food is really good too!
Amazingly great food, Amazingly bad service.. I called ahead of time to place an order and i wanted to make sure it would be ready when i got there. They said everything would be ready. I get there and there is a sign on the door saying that they would be gone for more than half an hour! failed to mention that to me just ten minutes before. Then when i get in they say i didn’t talk to them and i had the wrong number(when i called it standing there their phone rang). anyways it was another fifteen minutes of waiting and all the while they were very rude and never apologized for making me wait 45 minutes. BUT Their food is great and extremely well priced. It’s definitely worth dealing with the poor service.
In Love!. Take out only, but the best bang for your buck if you are looking for authentic Indian deliciousness. Their fish pakoras are addictive, the aloo tikki is the perfect blend of spicy hot and crispy deep fried potato. So delicious! Their eggplant dish is rich and complex while the dah makanni has perfect pitch. The $10 lunch special on weekends is a phenomenal deal: rich fluffy naan, fish pakora, rice, curry protein (usually butter chicken), curry lentil and curry veg. I always have left overs for afternoon snack, or supper! I never find the staff to rude, they are gentle and kind and usually running off their feet. They cook everything from scratch in the back and people gotta chill out and wait for the love.
The food was decent, i had butter chicken with rice and some tasty cauliflower dish. But the place is a bit of a dive and they dont do the decor any favors by putting their hot table in the middle of the movie section. Very poor layout. Not to mention the lady that served there was on the phone the whole time and didnt seem to care much about serving the customers. They really need to commit to their takeout rather than operate it like its in the way of their movie store.
Take out only. consistently the best food value for my $10. Rice, butter chicken, lentils, veg, a peice of tandoori chicken and naan bread. I’ve eaten this a half dozen times and never been disappointed. A couple days ago I went with a friend and we shared one of the full meals and a couple samosas and there was plenty for both of us. ?The very first time I went here I forgot my wallet. I had not quite $4 in change I discovered after ordering and the owner very understandingly let me slide. Very nice. I repaid her next time. Howz that for customer service?!
I have been here a few times and the people are very rude, and I would not recommend people to come here. Also, don’t buy dvds from here, most of then freeze not even halfway through. Overall, waste of money.
Flavours of India to avoid. The samosas were uncooked, even after a ten minute wait for them. I also ordered the steamed rice and butter chicken, the steamed rice is nothing special, while the butter chicken had a layer of oil on top. Even though I ordered it mild it was quite spicy, and actually pretty gross. The garlic naan seemed like it had been sitting out for a while and was cold. Overall the experience was not tasteful, and the $25 would have been better spent elsewhere. I would personally rate this place as average and not in the top 10 of Victoria’s best Indian choices.
