Came here for yum cha and wasn’t entirely satisfied. Some were good, some were average, some were bad but none was excellent. If I had to pick one that I enjoyed the most, it had to be the BBQ pork pastry. The BBQ pork was tasty, and the pastry was buttery and flaky. The BBQ pork bun wasn’t too bad either, as the flavourful BBQ pork definitely helped elevate its deliciousness. The fried items were alright, but then again it’s hard not to like something deep fried.I liked the idea of serving the chicken glutinous rice in 3 seperate portions, instead of the Melbourne way of serving 1 big portion which takes up all your tummy space. Taste-wise I think it was quite horrid, and so was the suspiciously way too sweet zha liang. The siu mai and har gao had potential but were unfortunately a bit dry.The service was acceptable – reasonably friendly and attentive. They were quick to refill the teapot but they did however forgot all about our order of radish cake.

I can assure you this is a good authentic place to enjoy Dim Sum because my friend’s boyfriend is Chinese, he invited us here the first time and we had a terrific experience. If you come on weekend arrive early to avoid the line. It’s very popular for Chinese families. The items I liked the most were the ginger cow’s belly, the chicken feet, the eggplant, the Chinese bread, scallop dumplings, Chinese broccoli, bean curd with mushrooms, sesame balls, etc! Ok, the only thing I didn’t like was a radish paste. The service is fast and friendly.

Tried this restaurant for the first time Very disappointed and having read the previous reviews of negativity my review falls into that category. To save you all the aggravation and disappointment I would suggest going to Don Mee s and pay a couple dollars more on the bill.

The dim sum was good and service was really fast and friendly. We went on Sunday around noon and it was really busy, but we had no trouble getting served quickly. As soon as we sat down, the waitresses started pushing carts to our table and bringing us food right away. Anything we asked for, they quickly brought it out with a smile. We ordered siu mai, har gow, shrimp spring rolls, steamed sticky rice, pork and shrimp dumpling, chicken feet, gyoza, and egg tarts. The gyoza was just okay, but everything else tasted great. It was all warm and fresh too, especially the egg tarts. I would definitely come again for the dim sum, and it is way better than Don Mee. I still have to try Golden City though before I find out which restaurant has the best dim sum in Victoria, but my money’s on Jade Fountain.

Went there for dinner with family on Sunday evening, the restaurant was not super busy at all. Sat for half hour with nothing served, even though, we mentioned to the waitress that we were in a hurry, but the waitress served 6 dishes to the table came in after us, she did not even bother with us. Really we got no mood eating there, also the food are pricey.

Disappointed from Calgary and Niagara. We had a party of four and we were all very disappointed with the food at this establishment. We had Peking Duck with our meal and there was only tiny slivers of skin and no meat. The Peking Duck wrappers were all dried out and hard. I think they popped them in a microwave to try and soften them up. Not even edible. They seemed like Mexican tortillas. The place was recommended by a merchant in Victoria Chinatown. Boy was he wrong.

Great value.. Food is good and authentic Cantonese. Good price as well. Environment, however could be improved a lot if it weren’t below ground.
