Had raw beef and brisket pho today, and deep fried dumplings. Very good! Another day I had the pork springrolls which were ok. I liked this restaraunt back when it opened about 6 years ago. I guess the owner changed 2 years ago. They are still decent. Dumplings were delicious. The pho was good. I usually don’t eat all the broth but I did today. I add chili oil to mine and it’s perfect. I asked for extra basil and they brought more. The meat was very soft and tender. Polite staff, clean. My only complaint is the hard wooden chairs.
My go-to Pho place in my neighborhood. Not fantastic but not bad either. Consistent food and service at a decent price. Love that they include seafood on the vegetarian page 🙂
I have been to a lot of pho places and thought I’d try going back to Pho Ever. Great pho pun by the way. I used to go here a lot when I lived in the area, I remember their opening day and am glad to see that they are still around many years later. Pho quality has only improved, I’m hesitant to call it the best in the city but it is definitely in the set of above-average pho places of Victoria. I was actually incredibly jealous of my accompanying guest who got one of the boxes. I had a taste of each – the spring rolls were good, tempura was incredible, meat and sauce were good… very good considering years ago I remember being disappointed in some noodle dishes they had. Anyway yes, the pho had a flavourful broth that leaned a little more into the cinnamon/5 spice kind of realm than I prefer but was otherwise delicious, the quality of meat and noodles were quite good, and I was happy with the portion and presentation. I find the staff to not be overly friendly and somewhat reserved and distracted but always polite in interactions. I must factor past visits and other dishes into my review but in general this place is quite above average with some aspects that could use improvement. Edit: I revisited this place on Sept 4 and the broth was incredibly thin and watery. It was some of the worst pho broth I’ve ever had, bland and tasteless. I don’t know what happened. So consistency is an issue and I’m reducing my original 3.5 to a 2.5. Looking at my old photos, I will say that even the hue was incredibly light, a pale yellow that was almost clear, NOTHING like the old photos I took. I think this sort of lack of consistency is not excusable and I must withdraw my backing of this place.
Shite in every way posibleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Don’t go here. GoPro pho nominal or pho vie
Change of Ownership. New Menu. I would not recommend. We were very disappointed with our meals. Very little veggies or meat. No flavour. Just a pile or flavourless rice or noodles. We asked for a refund and were only given half our money back.
I ordered the pho combo. The portion/size was fair. The broth started out very flavourful and delicious, but halfway through my meal, it got too salty. I think maybe all the salt had settled at the bottom? The noodles and meat were good. The restaurant didnt have basil unfortunately. The restaurant decor is nice and the service was fine. Overall it was a good dining experience but not fantastic. Although I might go back and try some of their korean dishes.
