Solid place to eat. One of the favourites on Salt Spring. In typical Island fashion, everything is homemade with local ingredients, and the menu is varied catering to all types of preferences. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. We enjoy the burgers, the veggie is tasty and topped with sauted mushrooms, caramelized onions, and swiss cheese. Can get very busy especially on bakery/cafe side when the ferry is coming/going. Allow lots of time and anticipate a wait… but this is Island life so sit back, relax and enjoy the view.
On my way back to Swartz Bay I had some time for a bite but unfortunately a take out bite. The Rock Salt has lots of great food to take out and eat while awaiting the arrival of the ferry. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the wraps and deserts in the take out case are really very good. I think next time I’ll make time for a sit in lunch as if the take out was any indication should be excellent.
