Book ahead, this place gets popular at peak times. A wide selection that seems to cater for everyone. The specials are always worth a try. Perhaps a little pricey but then you are trapped on an island with not much else to choose from.
I came here on a Saturday night for dinner with my mom, and the place was reasonably busy, but the service was quite friendly. Our hostess was very attentive and checked on us a number of times. We weren’t very hungry so we just ordered an appetizer and main dish to share. For our appetizer, we got the Stuffed Mushroom, which has three different cheeses and bits of crab meat. This came in a ceramic dish of 6, and every bite was gooey, creamy, cheesy deliciousness. The citrus from the lemon balanced out the heaviness of the ingredients. The amount of crab was not too sparse either. (4/5) For our main, we ordered a Greek Salad, and added tiger prawns. The salad was rather small and I would not pay the price for it again, but it was very nice. It also comes with 6 pieces of crisped up pita bread. I just wished the portion was bigger, and $6.50 for three pieces of prawn isn’t of great value either.. (3.5/5) Overall, we had a pleasurable experience here. This place is terrible. Came here today, my first visit to salt spring island. I walked in and waited to be seated. This guy came and was like, so…. And I said, I’m here for food. And he said ‘for one?’ In that weird way some servers have of saying it. So he leads me to a table and I sit down and he’s like, so are you just here for a quick bite? Because we have a reservation in an hour….I couldn’t believe how rude that was. The service was pretty slow from him throughout, he’d keep disappearing in the back. They were discussing their big reservation and ignoring their current customers. Well mostly me he seemed to be good with everyone else. After I got my food (the tiniest chicken fingers I’ve ever seen. And the butternut squash soup was not blended properly – there were big pieces of onion!), he never checked in on me or filled my water. Finally I got my bill after waiting, other waiters walked by and saw me waiting and did nothing. Terrible place!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Delicious calamari, recommended by an incredibly knowledgable waiter who was professional and friendly. The pizza was great and the atmosphere excellent for a romantic evening with the man.
Not Bad. Not a bad place to go if you are in need for an easy middle-of-the-road meal in Ganges. The menu was varied enough to satisfy most tastes and the atmosphere and service is reasonable.
Good pub food!. We ate here for lunch, and were pretty impressed with the quality of the food. It’s pretty basic, but well done, and fairly reasonable. I would definitely eat here again!
