Chef thinks patrons are stupid. We ordered our eggs over easy and they came out hard and very well done. The waitress offered to redo the eggs and within 30 seconds the plates came back … the eggs had been flipped over!! We complained again but we were not offered any remedy. In other words: Shut up and put up! I guess we are stupid to have stayed and paid. Never again!

Fabulous Schnitzel. The schnitzel here is very good. Thin, tender and juicy. I have just returned from Europe and was unable to find schnitzel as good as Bistro Suisse. The service is great and the decor is entertaining. I would recommend trying it.

    Best schnitzel I’ve ever tasted.

Too expensive for just average Food.. Having walked through Sidney BC on a rainy day, we stopped at Bistro Suisse for Dinner. We ordered Vienna Schnitzel with pan fried potatoes. Schnitzel was tough or too well done, and the pan fried potatoes were too crisp. And it is pricy. For $24 plus tax we would have expected way more. We mentioned it too the staff, and all they said that she would bring it to the cook’s attention. Totally ignorant and unprofessional in our opinion. Having said that, left without tipping the staff. This was the first time ever we did that. To conclude, we will not go there anymore, as we did not get quality food for the steep price.

Fabulous!. My wife and I just went to the Bistro Suisse yesterday and it was fabulous! We really enjoyed our experience. I had the filet mignon AAA with peppercorn sauce… ouuuuff! So good, med-rare, perfectly tender and peppery. The filet, mixed with Rosti – melting in my mouth – wow, what a combination! Even the simple vegetable side was perfectly warm, just the right crunch into it. Wine and amazing smoked salmon ravioli in appetizer: a must! Not without talking about the dessert: double chocolate cake, raspberry coulis, mint, ice cream, melting… mmmmmmh! Just go. The price reflects the quality you will find. You want a memorable feast? Plan $100 for two people. What a night!

Willkomen in Schnitzel paradise. We were walking around Sidney the other day and decided to try this restaurant, I had always assumed it would be too fancy and pricey to bring my young son but when we saw the menu outside with very reasonable prices we decided to give it a try. Well we were in for a really nice surprise! Our food was delicious and the Schnitzel was just amazing, surely as good as what we remembered from our trips to Swizterland and Austria, all the rest too from the red cabagge to the bratwurst and the caesar salad and even the fries just tasted excellent and amazed us, not to mention that the portions were generous. We learned that the restaurant is under new management, it has been taken over by a young couple freshly arrived from Switzerland, the husband being the chef, which explains the excellent european quality of the cuisine. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the service was super friendly. We could really imagined being in Switzerland, the only thing missing were the snow-peaked mountains outside the windows. We are going to recommend this place to all our friends, and we’ll happily do the drive all the way from Victoria to be in Schnitzel heaven again.

Swiss Gem. We dropped in for lunch one Saturday afternoon. The Bistro was busy but some tables were available. It has a really intimate atmosphere , welcoming and the service was friendly and very prompt. My wife had the Reuben sandwich which she raved about (and she is a Reuben expert ) with fresh hot fries. I had a pork schnitzel with a fresh Caesar salad . All the food was first rate. We can’t praise this restaurant enough. The icing on the cake was a table visit by the chef. We definitely intend to return.
