Seaglass is a lovely place to eat. Clean and welcoming. The staff including our waiter were very friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. The menu is imaginative and makes for a great read. The meals we had were very creative and tasty. Prices were reasonable on the high end. We were a large group so we were told the tip(18%) would be automatically added at the end. This was acceptable and the service was right on. My problem was the tip was added after the taxes were added. Their debit/credit machine should be adjusted to fix this issue. We do not like paying tips on taxes. Otherwise outstanding performance by all. The chef even came out to talk to customers about certain food allergies.
. A fine dining establishment is expected to serve quality food. This includes the entire plate not just the protein. While the protein was cooked well, the vast majority of the plate wasn’t edible which ruined our meal. He explained that he offered $5 off the meal which was the cost of the potatoes. I didn’t order potatoes separately. I ordered a meal. Not once did he apologize or make any offers to make any reconciliation over our meal and continued to be rude and raise his voice at us.This ruined my girlfriend’s birthday.I would think twice if were to come to this restaurant for a special occasion such as to celebrate someone’s birthday.
Owner terrible, bad food, stay away for important dinners!. Sea Glass ReviewWe decided to go for dinner at the Sea Glass restaurant for my girlfriends birthday on April 18th with her family. We had been to the restaurant previously and had enjoyed the food, especially the mashed potatoes which were divine! Moist and soft. Absolutely perfect. The restaurant was busy and we were only able to get a reservation for 8PM which we took. I ordered the Halibut $30 and my girlfriend ordered the chicken which was around $23. Both plates came with mashed potatoes. Three of our five entrees at the table contained mashed potatoes. Unfortunately we were not pleased with the mashed potatoes as they were lukewarm but the real issue is they were extremely dry and didn’t taste good. We mentioned it to our server and she brought us three sides of mashed potatoes which were warm. They were exactly the same, dry and un editable. My girlfriend and I didn’t eat our mashed potatoes and settled for the protein on our plate instead. We told the server that they still were not up to par. Given the plates are very small as this is suppose to be fine dining we were very un impressed. The bill came and we noticed that nothing was done to rectify the issue. We brought this up with the server and after a lengthy delay of her calling her boss, they offered $5 off the total order, which was a slap in the face.I said that wasn’t sufficient given the circumstances. She called her boss again and asked me if I would like to talk to him, I said I would. She said that he was actually on the way over and I said ok. 30 minutes later he arrived. We went outside and was joined by my girlfriend’s stepfather. We explained the situation calmly to the owner who wouldn’t hear about what happened and became belligerent and extremely rude with us. I wasnt seeking a free dinner but I was expecting him to take the lesser of the two meals off our bill given his restaurant ruined her birthday. Odd Combinations are Oddly Awesome. Some things just don’t seem to go together like Salmon and Pork Belly, boy was I mistaken. Filled with fresh inovative combinations this place keeps surprising me, I never know what to expect next. Can hardly wait to go back.
Awesome. I can’t say enough about the Sea Glass. Great service and the food is always good. I try to stop in when I am in town. Great cosy well decorated restaurant.
Hidden Gem. Our new go to restaurant when in Sidney. What a great find. Nice location , good food and great service. Have now been at least five times and everything has been very good. Keep up the good work.
Yes, this is my second review in three days of the Sea Glass, and my review is just as good. We are a group of women that have never before gone to the same place twice in the same trip…until now. Tonight we shared delicious salads with different dressings than the other night and were pleased; a couple of us had the halibut the other night and thought we had died and gone to heaven, tonight we ordered the AAA beef tenderloin with the most amazing demi glaz, it seriously melted in our mouths; we tried a couple of new wines tonight as well as a couple of different desserts and we have never been so happy….Chef Ron Vincent -You Rock!!! Not sure when we will be back, but we will be!!!!11 Oct, 2014Eight of us, two different salads, five different entrees, cocktails and wine, two different desserts…all of it sooooo good. Great service (shout out to Lee), knowledgable about a gluten-free diet, lovely view. We would ABSOLUTELY go back….maybe tomorrow!
