Excellent Food!. Since Thai Corner opened on Beacon Avenue in Sidney, it has become one of our favorite restaurants. The food is fantastic and the service is outstanding. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant if you are in Sidney.
Very Nice Buffet. Today my husband and I decided that a lovely Thai lunch with choices already prepared would be just right, as we had time constraints and I had to work at 2 pm. We arrived just after 12 and found the place abuzz with customers. We were welcomed and found a seat for two. The server checked us to see if we were comfortable there, (my husband has had recent knee surgery.) We reassured them and prepared to enjoy our lunch.Delicious Tom Yum Soup, with that sweet/sour/spicy flavour was included. Its my favourite so I partook and enjoyed!Hubby tried the green chicken curry, the squid pad thai noodles, the spagetti with spicy beef and the chicken wings. I took rice, and added lovely green chicken curry with lots of sauce. I found the quality excellent and hubby did too. Spring rolls added a nice crunch and the chicken wings were tasty and hot in the spicy sauce provided. All told, for a lunch buffet, we felt we had good quality choices and the dishes were constantly being refilled. The wait staff was attentive, the restaurant was full and they were not to busy for the owner Nina to come introduce herself to our table with a big welcoming smile. Whatever issues this restaurant has had getting organized and learning how to serve efficiently with good customer service, they are today having no issues.Pleasant environment, delicious fresh food and reasonable prices. We will visit again, and thank you!
Same great food, beautiful new restaurant. My family and I recently visited this place for an early dinner on a weekend trip to Vancouver Island and absolutely loved it. We had previously dined at their other location and were delighted to see their beautiful new restaurant on Beacon Ave. The interior was very spacious and comfortable; the wait staff attentive and friendly. Feeling a bit hungry coming off the ferry, we ordered the spring rolls and butterfly crispy prawns to snack on right away while they prepared our other dishes. Both were very tasty and we were pleasantly surprised by their homemade plum dipping sauce which was lovely! For our mains we had their tom yum goong soup, drunken noodles with chicken, and spicy seafood combination. The flavours were very good although I found the medium authentically spicy so next time we go I’ll order mild. Our waitress must have noticed this and was very prompt to make sure I had water. Overall we were very impressed and I am looking forward to our next visit!
Lunch buffet – great flavours!. GREAT lunch option in Sidney, and is definite competition for Sabhai Thai. Busy, busy with happy people last time I was there at lunch. Now located on Beacon ave….
Do Not Deliver From Here. I just want to start by saying that I have never been one to complain to a restaurant and have never even had to think of writing a bad review before this extremely disappointing service. After reading the reviews, we decided we would try a new Thai Restaurant. It’s a Saturday night, so we understood it was busy, and were willing to wait in order to have our food delivered. We only ordered two simple dishes, a fried rice, and a noodle dish. We were told it would take 45 minutes– fair enough, they said it was busy. After an hour and forty minutes, we get a call saying they are just arriving. We were already contemplating calling and cancelling our order, because at 8:30 you aren’t really hungry for dinner anymore, and 1:40 is ridiculous. When they finally arrived, they didn’t even have a price on the slip for how much we owed. The delivery person couldn’t get a hold of the store so he had to guess what we owed. There really isn’t any excuse for a simple food order to take this long.OH and to top it all off, the food isn’t even hot. Thanks Thai Corner, but we will not be ordering from you ever again. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Go down the street to Sabhai Thai. You can always count on them for good quality food and good, fast service.
Worst service I have ever had. The absolute most unorganized, unprofessional restaurant I have ever been to. After waiting about fifteen minutes my wife finally walked over to another table to get the menus as the people that were seated got up and left before they starved to death. When the waiter finally came over to take our orders my wife ordered a appetizer chicken dish, 20 minutes later they informed us they were out of chicken and pork, this is at seven pm only. I ordered a red beef curry dish and my wife ordered a so called exotic mixed seafood dish. My curry dish came twenty minutes later followed my wife’s dish another fifteen minutes after that! The red curry dish was ok a little lacking in beef with under cooked vegetables. The seafood dish had only a a few pieces of over cooked squid and a couple scallops along with under cooked vegetables and a tasteless sauce, far from exotic. The seafood dish was seventeen dollars and the beef fourteen, portion extremely small. There was a table of some older people next to us who we over heard telling the waiter to just bring out anything as they had been waiting an hour and a half. They continued to sit people down and let them order appetizers before informing them they were out of chicken and pork just to get them in and committed to staying. The absolute worst service and business practices I have ever seen. Go down the street to the other Thiai restaraunt, we will never return or recommend this place.
Excellent food. Good people. I’ve never had the buffet but I’m not a buffet person. But I’ve enjoyed every dish that I have had on the menu.
