Have recently had a few lunches there and its usually hit or miss. Tea is usually only lukewarm and their sandwiches and pastries are only so-so. Nothing special for the price. They do have grat chili though.

This used to be such a great cafe, but it has gone downhill over the last while. It’s very expensive for food that could be better, the baking is terrible and the staff seem miserable. They don’t embody the community spirit anymore.

Great food, horrible coffee. Everything but the coffee is excellent. I wish they still made pizza, they had the best pizza in Sooke.

Doesn’t quite hit the good mark. I am pretty sure the owners are padding these reviews. It is definitely not higher than a 8.0 .The bakery has many windows so is very bright and warm. The customers are mostly the over 50 crowd. They play classical music. service was friendly and the croissant sandwich came out quickly. The coffee was so so and the sandwich tasted a bit like fish, but was a ham and egg sandwich. Many people where buying bread so this is a good establishment. I would say the food is ok and the price was good. I would not make this place a regular breakfast place. I would rate this bakery 6/10 for breakfast.

My 10 year review. I have been a customer at Little Vienna Bakery since it opened about 10 years ago. It’s always been a really good bakery that served freshly made artisan breads and pastries, but when owners Susan and Michael bought it two years ago from the original owners, the place evolved into a really great bakery. It’s obvious they have re-invested heavily into the business by expanded their product lines to give customers more variety, sourced local organic ingredients, have increased their gluten-free lines of breads, cookies, cakes and pies, added and trained excellent staff members, created an awesome new website at littleviennabakery dot com, completely renovated the interior to make it authentically European (and are in the process of constructing a new courtyard in their beautiful gardens complete with three tiered fountain), brought in a marketplace component with imported cheeses, tapenades, crackers, olives and vinegrettes, they have developed a popular mobile lunch truck service, and due to popular demand have begun wholesaling their breads and cakes to surrounding restaurants and hotels. My list could go on and on with what I have witnessed as a regular customer. All this to say that I am so pleased to see the passion and commitment of the owners reinvesting into their bakery and the community, to see that they believe in excellent business and customer service practices, and to see that the quality and consistancy of their products have always remain at the highest levels.I have never been disappointed with anything I have bought or eaten at Little Vienna Bakery, and although their prices have gone up a little bit over the past two years, it’s easy to see why and I certainly do not mind paying a little extra for so much more.

Good place to to stop. Changed hands recently. Coffee and pastries here are always good and the staff are never without a smile but since the new owners have taken over the one thing that has not changed for the better is that the size of the bread has shrunk but the price for it has increased! Even so I continue to go – only because there is little other option in Sooke.
