Our party of 4 arrived on October 3rd, 2015 for dinner and expected exceptionally high quality service for the over the top rice for a fixed price 4 course meal at $85 per person. We simply didn’t get it.Every course took forever to arrive. Soup bowls were not cleared until the remains were were hard as crust. I actually asked the secondary waitress if they were out fishing for clams and mussels for my second course. It took so long. Our primary waitress blamed the chef for everything else that came LATE.The whole ordeal took nearly 2 hours. The food we eventually got was OK, but by the time we got it, everyone was pretty disjointed with the service. So nothing tasted that great. Why we even gave our server an 18% tip still grieves me. $422 for 4 people, tip in and 1 bottle of wine.NEVER AGAIN. Warning to others.
Always a pleasure. Great memories and experiences at this restaurant. Love their unique approach to cooking and that everything is grown on site. Romantic atmosphere!
This hands down our favourite restaurant! We have come here so many times and have never been disappointed. Great food in a beautiful place right on the water. Incredible!
Bad-Imbalance service, Racism.. If you are not Caucasian you will get a different service. I am asian look very much like First Nation. My partner and I had the dinner on the 2nd of April 2015. The servers always ignored me, once a young server came to the table try to take my partner’s plate which he hasn’t finish yet but I am finished mine, my plate already empty. He just left and do something else. And when they come to fill up the water they just pour for my partner never for me. I have to ask for it.Pagone.
Gorgeous view!. View is spectacular, the food is delicious, the portions are very small. Left kind of hungry, but happy.
Sooke Harbour House. We had overall a great meal tonight. Brock who used to own and run the Stone Soup Inn is now the Chef. Or perhaps it should be said, back as the chef. Overall our table would say the food was very good. However, for a restaurant with such an extensive wine list, the wine service was poor. I was beyond overwhelmed with the extensive wine list. I asked for a dry white wine with no oak. The first wine brought to the table was Oaked. Really! I was beyond clear about NO oak. Another three options were then brought for tasting and all rejected for oak and taste. Another three wines brought for tasting, and finally we found one that was fine. Please- have a Somalier on staff as I have never had such poor service on wine. The overall service was mediocre . For what we paid the service was overall disappointing but I think the table would say the food was quite good.
While the lunch started right, the afternoon progressively diminished to a bad taste. First off they got my order wrong (considering they wrote it down). And lastly the credit card machine did not work, after 3 attempts. So, we had to go to the gallery machine (my fault of course). And the attitude I got, it was as if I created the issue. Ultimately, for a person that has eaten at Point no Point and many other fine dinning establishments, coast to coast. This was most definitely 5/10. The view, the name (I.e. The guest that have dined there, maybe great). But with the rest, I don’t know….
