So so so so good! For what you pay, you defiantly get a good amount of authentic food. The burritos are the size of a small child and are just so delicious. I love love love this place.
Best Take-Out in Sooke!. The Lazy Gecko is my family’s go to restauraunt for take-out in Sooke! The staff is wonderful and while the atmosphere is nice, we prefer to take-out. I ALWAYS order a chicken or beef burrito served in a bowl with tortilla chips and guacamole on the side, the perfect mexican comfort food! The Lazy Gecko makes fab guacamole and the food is always hot and fresh to order! Wonderful business, wonderful people, wonderful food, don’t miss this Sooke gem!
Not so great for vegetarians. The only beans that are vegetarian are the black beans. Mine came undercooked and mealy and it ruined an otherwise passable burrito. This Gecko is certainly lazy.
This place was great. Good food. Great owners. Fast friendly service. Fresh food. Glad to see there is something good in sooke to eat.
Have heard so many great reviews of this place by family and friends that we decided to try. First time was just for drinks with friends on the deck and it was great. Prices for beer and cider are cheaper than any other local establishment in Sooke. Service was great and server was friendly. Enjoyed it so much we came back to eat the following weekend. I had the pulled pork soft taco and hubby had beef tacos and we were very pleased. Liked how we were given the option of mild, medium, and hot and the cuisine is very similar to what you get on the beaches in Mexico – homemade and fresh!
Authentic food. My wife and I shared the pulled pork burrito and chicken enchiladas. Great portions, the burrito was packed full, but had to ask for more sour cream. Our picky daughter (doesn’t like anything but tacos) loved the big slice of pizza. It was 2 in the after noon and people kept streaming in..the lady and man that own it were super friendly and chatting up the customers when time. The could use a little fresh paint to spruce things up, but food and service was great & we’ll be back. The margaritas were great too if you like em really thick.
Great Pulled Pork Burrito. Went to the Lazy Gecko for the first time with my son for lunch.We both ordered the Pulled Pork Burrito.We both found the Burrito to be tasty and large enough to fill our 6′ plus frames.If you like Mexican food I would recommend you give the Lazy Gecko a try.
