Pho-midable. We make Kim express a regular hangout for lunch and conversation. The Pho is great! Nice people, delicious food. Good prices. Watch out for the lunch crowd! Best of several similar places I’ve tried for the noodle soup alone.
Went in there with a 2-1 entire coupon from the entertainment book. Because we had this coupon we decided to order and appetizer too as we were saving money. When it came time to pay they said they no longer accept the coupons even though they are still current/valid coupons. Was not happy that the coupon is in the book and they are choosing to no longer accept them.
Pleasantly surprised!. We just got takeout from this neighbourhood restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised.I ordered #63: Lemongrass Chicken and Spring Roll with Vermicelli noodles. The chicken was very flavourful and so was the spring roll. The salad was simply some iceberg with some pickled carrot and radish, but I ate those up too.I got a small won ton soup on the side and it, too, was good. The broth was tasty and there were lots of vegetables throughout. My partner picked up a rare beef and meatball Pho, and enjoyed it just as much. All in all, pretty good and affordable. A great go-to for Vietnamese food in this neck of the woods!P.S. When I called for a menu, the lady explained they did not have a website or online menu but offered to fax it to me. How sweet! pulpandpixel.ca
LOVE IT!!!. Pho Kim Express….. has such amazing food that it is hard to explain. Don’t listen to Cakebrain. I tried the spring rolls, and they were the BEST SPRING ROLLS I EVER HAD! SO GOOD! I had just about 1 in each category: Appetizers, Viet subs, Pho (MY FAVE!), Noodle soup, vermicelli noodles, Rice dish, from the grill, and drinks (they also have a section for vegetarians so thats good!). Bubble tea was amazing and there was free parking (LOVE IT!) I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. My fave in VANCITY
GREAT VIETNAMESE FOOD!!!. First time trying Kim Express… GREAT PLACE. First of all, the location is easy to find, with free parking (always a bonus!). Upon entering the restaurant I was struck by how much they’ve done with the place. It’s a small establishment, but the painting and decorations are classic, aesthetically pleasing and overall quite pretty! Their menu has a great deal of variety, I tried the lemon grass chicken with a spring roll (amazing spring rolls) and rice… loved it. I would go again tomorrow! Prices are incredibly reasonable, particularly for the amount and quality of food. The service was friendly and timely, no complaints whatsoever. Also tried one of their milkshakes (they have milkshakes, bubble tea, and smoothies… yum yum yuM!) Recommended to anyone who likes good Vietnamese food (my friends tried the Pho and it was the best they’ve had in a while!). GO!!!
Meh. We tried the pearl milk tea and I found the bubbles okay in texture but the tea flavour was lacking. Not enough bubbles either. It needed some actual strong tea in it! With DragonBall around the corner on Oak and King Ed, there’s no reason to come here for Bubble Tea. It was also more milky in appearance than tea coloured. The steamed rolls with ham dish was okay but not substantial. Tons of beansprouts were mounded on the platter to make it look abundant. Spring rolls were good. Vermicelli bowl was lacking in veggies…heavy on the sprouts and not too much flavour. I think the nuoc cham dip/sauce was on the watery side and lacked oomph. Broth for their soups was not as good as others we’ve had and needed more depth. For the price I was expecting more of everything: flavour, portion size and quality ingredients. There are plenty of good value Vietnamese restaurants around that provide all these aspects so I’ll have to pass on a revisit. cakeonthebrain.blogspot.com
Ate takeaway from here several times when camped out at the BC Children’s. Very cheap and tasty. Certainly good value.
