Great lunch!. Today we stopped for lunch at Sabra Kosher deli and bakery on Oak near King Ed. My wife had the falafel pita and I had a shawarma pita. There was a mini salad bar with about a dozen choices of fillings for the pita, and you were allowed to pick four different ones. I had humous, coleslaw, a salad with olives in it, and dill pickles. Even though I am not Jewish, I love Kosher dills. There were only a few tables, but most customers were taking out. We had a great lunch and took home a strudel for dessert tonight. I will definitely return for more.
Does the trick. Being from Montreal, I was super excited when I spotted this place across the street from my new apartment.I pop in there quite regularly for a sweet fix, as they have an array of pastries and cakes. I’ve attempted to buy bagels a few times in the morning, assuming they would have fresh ones just baked. Sadly, they seem to open habitually, and last I went in there they told me they make them around 11am. I’ve never tried the food from the restaurant (they just opened a pizzeria in half of the space) but I may give it a go soon.As for the sweets: the brownie is pretty awesome, the strudel as well if you can get it fresh. I order the baklava sometimes but it’s a bit soggy and has a lot of nuts. Still good, but not really what I expect from baklava.
Great Little Deli. My wife had just given birth to our daughter yesterday, and today we needed some treats for all our guests… Since we were in Women’s (just down the street on Oak) I stopped in. Love kosher delis and I always wanted to stop in here.Grabbed a walnut log for our guests, and a falafel wrap and shawarma wrap for myself. These were among the best wraps i’ve had out in a long time. Great size, and the salads/fillings they put in were great. He took extra effort to arrange my falafels so there was some in every bite. Their hummus was very good too. Service was very friendly. The young man behind the counter was warm and helpful, and we shared a laugh about our hospital guests.I will definitely go back when I need a deli fix. I will probably try the restaurant side too. This place is certainly one of the better places of this genre on Oak. Falafully good – a little further North has been a regular stop for me, but Sabra is now on my list.
This place is very enjoyable and serves up some good food
