This used to be our go-to place for Malaysican/Singaporean cuisine. However, it appears that the chefs have changed and the quality of the food isn’t as good as we remembered. For example, the roti, which used to consist of many thin layers of yumminess, that is crispy on the outside and soft and tender inside, turned out to be a disappointment in recent visits. Instead of many thin layers, the roti was a clump of thick dough, which was difficult to chew and not at all what it’s supposed to be.Assorted Assam Seafood Hotpot, another one of our favorites, was less than expected. Soup was still delicious, but there was hardly anything in it. Not good value for the price.Sambal Bunchies, which we always order, was also disappointing. The green beans tasted overcooked. And instead of large prawns, smaller shrimps were used. Hmm…What is worth ordering is the KL crab – so good and flavorful! And of course, the service is very good there.
I have tried this restaurant 2 years ago and everything was great!! So I came here again but everything was totally different..the foods were not good and service was just fair..the price was higher too..I wouldn’t recommended this place..
Food here is great, lots of flavors and large menu with many options. I really loved all of their appetizers, especially the prawn cakes and the fried tofu. Their curries are good, thought the lamb was cooked perfectly which was great. Their vegetable stir fries and fried rice were a bit too oily, but tasty. Great service and ambiance. Don’t forget to get their drinks they are SO GOOD! I always get the large size to share, lots of virgin as well as alocholic drinks. It gets quite busy here on the weekend so be sure to make a reservation ahead of time to ensure that you can get a table.
I used to go here a lot because I did like the food here but the customer service was just horrible. I normally ordered the roti canai, asam ayam, asam prawn, fried rice and sambal prawn. I like the food but I now avoid going there due to horrible customer service.
It’s not what it used to be. I’m not sure if the kitchen had an off day, but the dishes were not as good as I remember. Overly greasy and under flavored. Dried shrimp isn’t the only thing in the eggplant but that’s all I could taste. Pad Thai was just not good.
Not my favourite Malay/Indo restaurant in Vancouver. I found it a bit expensive for what it was. Enjoyed my Roti Cannai and my Kari Ayam but I found the sauce lacking the depth I normally enjoy.
Poor service makes good food not enjoyable.. We came in to the restaurant with no one to greet us and a relatively few clients scattered around. We loved the Seafood Laksa, found our favorite spot and started walking towards it. A grumpy server came in, appearing unhappy that we walked towards the table, telling us to wait to be led. Don’t they feel happier that we are actually excited to be in the restaurant and eager to spend our dollars on the restaurant? It took a long time for the server to take our orders. Afraid of making the server unhappy, we waited patiently. We gobbled our food quickly, paid and left. Food is still excellent but would not want to go back because of the service.
