Indian cuisine with a twist? Why not. To be honest, I didnt know what to expect looking at the menu and the limited options. But was pleasantly surprised that the food was absolutely yummy and the quantity didnt disappoint amongst the 4 of us, who are heavy eaters.
Vijs dont take reservations. We went there on a week night and it was not busy. Since it was a sunny and warm evening, we picked the patio to enjoy our dinner. Our server was attentive. The staff ,who delivered the food , always go thru wha the ingredients on the plate. Overall was a nice experience.
The lamb popsicles were really good 🙂 the Naan bread was super chewy and fluffy, highly recommend it 🙂 I gave it a 4/5 stars because of the price $$$
Rating based on food taste, quantity, price and representation of Indian flavors and uniqueness. The taste would be a 3.5. Quantity 3. Price is over priced. Way better Indian food elsewhere. I would consider this a western style Indian restaurant.. Lamb popsicles are tasty but the accompanying parts of the dish were lack luster. The paneer was bad and flavoring was average. Never seem paneer as a slab before. Although the idea was unique, poor execution. I had come to vij’s about 10 years ago at a different location and at the time I had not much experience with Indian food so at that time I would have rated it higher. After a lot of Indian food experiences you are better to pass on this and find somewhere authentic. One good thing is the naan is good with nice herbs
Great rooftop patio, great food and service. Was fortunate to get a table on a beautiful evening at this busy Resturant. They don’t take reservations so it can be a bit of wait. But it’s worth it!
Excellent food! I’m not usually a fan of lamb but the lamb popsicles are ridiculously good. They have servers with trays of appetizers/munchies available wellie you wait. Such a great idea. You need to get there early to avoid long line ups.
Have been here couple times while away from the city years ago. Vjis is a must return place every time when I got back to Vancouver. However, they don’t offer complimentary naan , rice and chai tea anymore which is quite disappointed…
