Lots of Food, reasonably priced and great for picking up something quick on the way through Duncan. Its not a 5 Star restaurant , its cafeteria style, clean, good Chinese take out. The owner is very friendly and his Staff seem happy, and I hope you give them a try.
No vegies for vegetarians. We do come here because the males in my life love the amount of food they get, however I am vegetarian and the options I get are noodles and deep fried veggies or spring rolls that have not a lot in them. I often ask why they don’t make a chopsuey without meat (meat eaters do eat vegetables). Instead of making a vegetarian one they actually added a beef chopsuey to go with they chicken one 🙁 Yes the vegetables look very fresh, but I wouldn’t know how they taste as they are surrounded by meat. Hoping one day I walk in and find no meat with the vegetables.
You get what you pay for. This is basic, dirt-cheap North-American style Chinese food. Yeah, its all prepared ahead of time and stored in pans in a steam table. May’s has very limited hours of operation, about 4 hours per day and closed Sundays. The volume of the clientele every time we’ve been there (which is many) guarantees that the food is reasonably fresh- the pans are constantly being replenished. If you’re looking for a gourmet true-Chinese-food experience then this place is not for you. The chow mein is – well, chow mein- lots of noodles, some bean sprouts and little else. The fried rice is fried white rice with the occasional little bit of egg and maybe a few peas. Their curry isn’t too bad. Sweet-and-sour is bits of pork breaded and deep-fried- no accompanying items like green pepper, onions or carrots. Almond chicken is almost luck of the draw- depending on which part of the previously frozen chicken breast they’re using at the time you might get a great crispy bit of dough with no chicken inside it or a substantial helping of chicken encased in a light, crisp envelope of batter. I could go on, but I hope you get my drift. Definitely not a real Chinese food experience but if you’re in Duncan, hungry, in a hurry, want something resembling Chinese food for a rock-bottom price go to May’s. I doubt you’ll be disappointed. We’ve been there many times and intend to continue to patronize this place. They’ve been in business for years and years now. They must be doing something right.
This is not chinese food. This was worst than food court chinese food!
So much food!. These guys cram their take out containers as full as they can get them! It’s also probably the cheapest Chinese food around… BUT… mall food court quality I’m afraid. If cheap and easy and enough to share is what you are looking for then this is perfect. Unless you don’t like your take out being scooped from a smorg like set up (much like in a food court). This may mean it’s not as fresh as you’d like but with the amounts they give with each order I’m sure It’s refilled often and kept some-what fresh. I do kind of like to see what my food looks like before I order anyway.. no surprises that way.
This is not Chinese Food!!!. After reading these few reviews, I thought I should give it a try I should have know better. This is goo on a Styrofoam dish!! The noodles were all glumped together and tasteless. The meat was so overcooked it was difficult to tell if it was pork or chicken. The saddest part of this is that 76% of those voting, liked it??? I think that suggests that Duncan residents desperately need a real Chinese restaurant which serves authentic Asian food. Beware.
Goor, consistent reliable and delicious!. Simplicity at its best. Excellent cafeteria style Asian food. Choice of rice or noodle, traditional chinese dishes that are consistently good. Generous portions, standard 1 rice/noodle with 2 dish combo can feed at least 2 people. It always has high volume so you know the food is always fresh, especially the veggies. Nice, cheerful friendly staff in a small cozy space. Always reliable and ready. I will go back again and again
