Will go back again. Great ambiance and superb food. Service was quick and courteous. Good selection of draft beers and the menu is varied for all tastes. Plan to make it one of my regular places to dine whenever I can.

I gave the Oak another try. I had the beef dip and seafood chowder. It was great.03 Feb, 2013My friends were embarrassed as they suggested the Oak for its great new food since the closure due to fire. Some is the meals around us looked pretty good. We ordered the roast beef dinner, I think the tiny Yorkshire pudding was in the building when it burned, dry and small. Beef was tasty but not worth the twenty dollar price. This may be the place for a burger and fries, but this kitchen is not ready to put out a $20 meal.

Cheap is going to ruin this place. We ordered the prime rib & it came with a teaspoon of gravy & the Yorkshire pudding was dry so we asked for more gravy. My husband & I were charged an extra $3.00 for gravy that should have been part of the meal. The Manager (part new owner) turned down the heat thermostat & locked it, so people have to sit in the freezing cold to eat their food…not nice. We now go to the Craig Street Brew Pub, & it is warm, comfortable, good food, reasonable price & they fill the beer picture to the top!!! Cheap is going to ruin the Oak & Carriage.
