First time came here and my friends said the owner was originally from Zest restaurant. They tried here before so they decided to treat us here for dinner. The place wasnt very big but was a full house by the time we got there. I liked all the dishes except the tofu dish. My favourite dishes were duck breast with butternut squash, soba crab roll and green tea cream brulee. The customer service wasnt good, the waitress was full of crap coming up all bs excuses for expired beer and how bc ban all Japanese import beers in restaurants. The food is good but customer service is mediocre at best. My husband refuses to go back here due to customer service.
Never thought that we could have a Japanese restaurant comparable to those izakaya in Vancouver downtown in such a dingy neighborhood in Burnaby. Too bad it opens only for dinners. Besides the regular menu, there is a 2 page one for Autumn which means the menu won’t be same old same old. This restaurant doesn’t even have a business sign out top but business is brisk and reservation is definitely recommended. All food items are yummy and the Chilliwack pork jowl is exceptional. This place is pricey but worth it. Will be going again soon.
