We walked in for a reservation dinner on the first day of our stay. It was a little cold and the sun was down so we asked for blankets on the patio. We were told they didnt carry any so we sat through the dinner without, but noticed they had lots tucked away as they gave other patrons some around 45 mins later. Clearly uneducated staff. We ordered which came late due to an apparently backed up bar ( the restaurant was barely half full ). The tuna tartar was great although I think it needed a little more flavour or reduction on the tuna, not just used garnish. The cauliflower wings need dip for sure. The downside with the tempura was it wasnt crispy. In my opinion, if its not crispy just skip the tempura. Fish tacos arent as good as they sound. The fish was cooked well but the coleslaw was bland and the corn tortillas were dry. Our fellow patrons told us the fish and chips were really good. We then asked about desert. One server said they would check if there was creme brle and we got no visit back with an answer. We then had to go hunt down someone and cake across a manager who gave us 1 on the house for the hassle. It was disappointing. My fianc told us it tasted like burnt propane and the creme was tasteless. This dinner which could be amazing with the sunset and the patio and a very profitable evening for the restaurant since we only had 1 drink each instead of 5, turned into a waste of time so we retired to our room.

Been going 13 years and love it. This is an awesome getaway location. The pub has always had a huge menu and most of the dishes are very good, from a pub-food perspective. Above average pub food. View is amazing, attitude is perfect for cottage country (we on our boat). location is great, close to Driftwood mall. Back of the Pt Browning Pub has a good cafe for breakfasts too. Pub is the best choice for non-fine-dining on Pender (well the sushi place nearby is even better).
Favorite pub in the Gulf Islands. Menu has recently, January 2012 changed and includes stir-fries. Staff goes out of their way to accommodate vegetarians and other requests. Locals know they can depend on Port Browning Cafe or Pub for fun, food and drinks and to watch sports on the screen or the boats from the huge windows. Cozy fires as well. Thanks for being here!
Went to watch the hockey game, my favorite beer was on tap, and they had a great house wine. We tried a couple appys, which were great. And we had great entrees. We will be back for sure.
