Great spot. Perfect place to cuddle up with a book and a home cooked meal! Everything I’ve had has been great, homemade and warms the heart! Tuna sandwich with chips is my fav!

Alegria cafe would be fine: decent food and a nice cosy ambiance BUT what brings it down is their customer service. It takes almost half an hour to get your meal, the employees don’t seem to care about serving the food promptly. A while ago my mom stopped by just wanting to put in an order for mince tarts. My mom arrived at 8 when Alegria opens. She saw an employee inside getting ready she waited outside for five minutes but seeing as it was cold and they were supposed to be open she knocked on the door. The employed paid no attention to her and turned her back. This is why I don’t recommend this cafe at all.

Garden Escape. Great little place in Steveston with real heart. You can totally tell that great care and attention has been put into each item of their food. Today I had the raspberry and orange muffin, made with honey instead of sugar. It was moist and delicious, stuffed with fruit. Also had the barley salad with feta, sundried tomatoes, zucchini, peppers, cucumber, and tomatoes and was served with Que Pasa tortilla chips. There is a fantastic little garden out the back you can sit in and have a wonderful snack and coffee.

Heard of ‘slow food’ but this is ridiculous.
