Came here with the best friend as the latter was craving fish & chips harshly! First impressions of the dining area were alike to a typical sit-down restaurant a la IHOP, Denny’s, sushi restaurants etc. Nothing mind-blowing there. Our server was pleasant albeit a little distracted. Granted it was slow when we arrived. Onto the food. We split a popcorn shrimp app (which was alright) + had 2 piece cod & chips. The fish n chips was filling, but VERY oily & greasy. Given the price points here we were expecting fish that wasn’t drenched in oil. So that left us both rather disappointed. Not a BAD place for fish n chips per se but there are definitely better spots, especially in Steveston.
Pajo’s got shuted down temporarily due to the collapsed walkway incident and I was craving for fish and chips (not so much the chips part actually) so we hopped over to Dave’s. Great that they allow you to order the fish only! We ordered a piece of cod, salmon, side coleslaw, and New England clam chowder. Totally came to under $20 which is not bad. The fish was not bad with the generous amount of tartar sauce they they gave us. The soup was a bit on the salty side by itself but worked well with the soda cracker.
