I was really excited when I saw a Mexican restaurant while walking through Steveston, and dragged my friend along with me. But our overall experience was kind of average (‘meh’ sums it up). The margaritas were great, but the taquitos that we’d ordered along with them, were not as much: we got a mixed plate of two beef and two chicken to share. We both enjoyed the beef ones, but the chicken ones on the other hand, were boring – not much flavor or taste, it was like rubber inside a crispy oily shell.I could go again for the margaritas though. It’s strange, because the place looked to be quite popular. We’d gone around 5 PM on a weekend, and we had to sit at the bar – there just weren’t any tables, even for two people.
Really authentic Mexican food! There was an amazing selection of tacos and enchiladas. Great atmosphere for friends and families and I received great service from waitresses.
We thought we would try the new owners.If you want to be nickel and dimed to death this is your spot.2 bucks for 10 chips, and they dont tell you. 2 bucks for hot sauce. My daughters chips and cheese were from Que Pasa/Costcoe/They didn’t have chicken tacos ready and it was dinner time. Seating outdoors was on hard old metal chairs. And to top it all off 6.75 for a Corona. Seriously?DT price for a beer but we were in a hole in the wall in Steveston.Not going back.
Value and Variety Missing. This is the second time that I tried the Restaurant. (Not saying its bad,because it isn’t). It has missed the mark in both service,variety and plating. If you order from the taco menu there is nothing but the most basic looking item that shows up. It is just an appetizer size and sells from $4 – $6 dollars nothing else on the plate. The sad cold soft flour shell is another disappointment. The service you think is going to be ok.. but both times the servers eventually forgot about our tables, and left us waiting. This looks like a place that needs direction in the worst way… i hope they find it. This is a long way from some of the great Mexican food Vancouver….
Great atmosphere food and service. We were out with Clients from Japan and decided to try something a little different, so we popped into The Little Mexico Cantina. The food was fantastic , we started with the beef / chicken and shrimp soft Taco’s and then had the fajita’s as our main course . The Margarita’s and Tequila were tasty and kept flowing all night. This wasn’t Tex-mex but really good authentic Mexican food . I would highly recommend this establishment and would definitely go again .
Takeout lunch. The whole lunch went in the garbage …. Rotten avocado was only the beginning . With all the great street vendor tacos this is embarrassing … Such a simple food if prepared fresh . Pictures on menu don’t resemble what was served in the least . Bought lunch for 4 and not one person ate it . Really disappointing !!!! Won’t be back and we live in Steveston . Word of mouth is everything !!! Serve Fresh food !!!
