came here during late lunch, ordered a few items, if i’m not mistaken i ordered the bolani for appetizer and assorted kebab for main. overall i think the meat is definitely well seasoned and the taste was good, definitely you can smell the herbs that were used but it was just good enought that it complements the rest of the seasoning of the meat. price wise it’s on the higher side for me, spent around $20+ well i think for trying is definitely okay, but i’d go for other places. the naan was good as well mangkr.wordpress.com

Back in 2016, i had shifted to a stict vegetarian diet. It was going pretty well and i was perfectly content with my choice of food. Lentils, fresh fruit and vegetables etc – you name it. I was really proud of myself. And then someone suggested Afghan Chopan. I have never hated myself more. Not because of the food, mind you. The place is located in the heart of Surrey, and has a rather unassuming vibe from the outside. As you enter it, youre greeted by a neat waterfall caressing a glass wall. Pretty swanky. Then you are exposed to the multiple seating options. You can either go for the traditonal table and chair, or you can sit cross legged on the floor on a slightly elevated platform seperate from the table and chairs. The food itself is very good. Unlike Afghan Horseman in Vancouver, Afghan Chopan does not serve Alcohol so if youre looking to mix up the halal and the non-halal, this isnt the place for you.Expectedly, the menu is very meat heavy. The Chopan Kebab Combo for example, is a delight. It may clog your arteries, but hey, you only live once. If you want to indulge in some rice, then try the Kabuli Pallow, which is suppoed to be a staple of Afghan cuisine. Apparently it is the to the Afghan people what McDonalds is to the American people – only more healthy. And dont forget the Naan Bread – a delightful mix between being crispy and soft. That may not make any sense as a reader, but it will make a lot of sense as an eater! In a nutshell, if there is one place that makes falling off the vegetarian wagon worth it, it is this.Restaurant Name : Afghan ChopanLocation : 12888 80th Avenue Surrey BCAmbiance : 8/10. Nothing fancy. Has a very casual feel to it. The kind of place you would like ridiculously out of place in a bowtie, for example.Service : 9/10. Fast, quick, and very helpful! All the time aided by a pleasant smiles.Food Quality : 8/10. If youre into meat, especially meat without gravy, this is the place to go. Dont eat breakfast. Dont eat lunch. Leave plenty of space in your stomach!*Afghan Chopan is a Halal Restaurant*

Quality not quantity is what you get when you visit Afghan Chopan. We always get the family combo and the meat is delicious and tender. The standout for me is the Qabeli polo is amazing. You have to give it a shot. The service is okay, and while the people are friendly, they always seem understaffed.

Everything in their Kebab Combo for 5-7 people hits the mark. Good ambience and pleasant service. A tad bit pricey and can be hard to find in a very busy business complex.

Actually a very unique experience. I wasn’t expecting too much, but the food was interesting and very flavourful. That being said, it’s not really my taste.

I am now an Afghani food lover! I had never tried this cuisine prior to the other night when my friend and I decided to order some take out. Initially, I was a little hesitant because of the strange location, but I was more than pleasantly surprised. All of the flavours were so vibrant! I could eat the boulani and mantu all day, every day for the rest of my days. The staff were also very friendly and helpful when we went to pick up our order. Will return!

We have visited this restaurant in the past, and we knew what to expect. There are long waits, but when the food arrives it is always delicious. The rice, grilled chicken, and bolani appetizer are my favourite. Today was no exception, because of the party next door, the food took a great amount of time to come. When we finally had our grilled and salad platter arrive, my younger cousins took the food eagerly. The server came by and said this was the wrong order, and used the tongs to grab half eaten pieces of meat off my cousin’s plate and put them back on the platter and took it away. This was quite absurd and surprising, definitely a health risk!
