I used to come here quite a lot between classes before Togo Sushi opened. The food is really good and quite affordable too, but the inside of the restaurant itself is not the best place to actually sit down and have a meal, especially when I’m by myself (there are of course worse places to sit down and eat, like dirty food courts). I recommend this place mostly for take-out
Curry Rice or Udon is really good though rather pricey. It now tends to have only tiny bits of vegetables as well (used to have larger carrot chunks). The chicken they use is great while the katsu can be really hit or miss (sometimes it can be really dry and stiff). I don’t get their sushi or sashimi especially anything raw. They use BBQ chicken for most of their chicken dishes. Nabeyaki Udon is nice but the tempura is a bit battery and noodles slightly soft. They make the rolls using a machine instead of hand-rolling.
Was the only sushi place on campus but McKenzie cafe has sushi now as well but selection here is better. Shashimi prices requires you to donate an organ first though so I normally save my sushi craves for off campus like California sushi on North Road and Austin Ave.
Cheap sushi place on sfu campus. students dont have a loy of options on campus so this place makes good money. food is smelly and shitty.
Look else where…. Food was pretty terrible. I’ve kept coming back because of the big portion of rice they gave. But now I’m guessing because of the economy? They portion are the same as every other resturant around campus so there’s no point for me to go back anymore.I remembered having maybe 6 meals there. 4 out of the 6 times the food was either cold or wasn’t cooked properly. Leave at all cost!
Delicious and cheap. My boyfriend and my favourite place to eat on campus. the food is always DELICIOUS and serves in big portions. they are also cheap! 6 bucks for a rice bowl or udon. enough to fill you up for a decent meal. nice staff, too.
