My wife and I order take out quite frequently and the food is spot on. You can order most dishes in mild medium or hot and the they never fail to amaze. I went for their buffet and it is a bit limited in selection but only compared to more expensive locations. For the price it has the most commonly enjoyed selections and again, their food is really great. The staff are also really friendly and courteous.

Placed an order at 615, didn’t receive the food, for over 2 hours later. Rejected the order and will never order again from here. I called a few times and they started to not answer my calls.

The food for the most part was great. We came here at 2:30 and the buffet was over at 3, so they weren’t keen on refilling some of the inserts with some food like the tandoori chicken. We figured since we were pushing 3, that this may be the case. My husband did ask if they’d bring some tandoori chicken out and they did. My husband was thrilled with the food, flavour and texture of the food from the buffet. I ordered chicken korma. The food was great. The flavour was spot on. What I wasn’t to thrilled with was the amount of fat on the chicken. I had to spit out a few mouth full of fat from a few chunks of chicken. The table was dirty. I put the paper napkin down on the table from my plate just after we were seated and half of it stuck and ripped because of some sticky residue left from whom ever sat at the table before us. These 2 minor issues that I had.

This past year in school I came here for lunch a couple times a month. Their $10 lunch buffet is such a good deal. They atmosphere is very modern and clean. I come in, and by the time I’m at my table with a plate of food from he buffet they’ve already put down a pitcher of cold water. I go through that bad boy fast, maybe just because I’m a white boy who can’t stand much heat. Their butter chicken is amazing, and even better when paired with the garlic naan. Friendly service every time I go!

I can’t believe that this place has a 3.4 rating. Way too high, in my opinion. Itdeserves the lowest one provided. The only reasons I think people gave this place positive reviews are either because they must be friends of the owners, or they have very unsophisticated palates and no idea of what decent (or evenhalf-decent)Indian food tastes like.Basically, the food sucks. On top of that, the owner/manager and staff provide misleading information so they can get a higher bill.I went there for the buffet because I was on my way back from Guildford Mall, returning to White Rock. It was Saturday afternoon. The owner (I think – a guy with a trimmed beard) was on the phone and pointed me to a table, soI sat down. He told me they did not have a buffet on weekends. After that, he brought a menu and I asked him, which one of the three dishes I liked, he would recommend. He suggested the Eggplant Bhartha, one of my favourite dishes, so I ordered that, with a tandoori bread and Gobi parantha. I also requested a samosa.First, he said that they had not made any samosas, so I ordered the aloo tikki instead as an appetizer. After about 10 mins, one staff member came and told me that they didn’t have any eggplants. So, so far, they don’t have 2 items on the menu, including one that was recommended to me by the owner/manager.The aloo tikki was really oily had nothing but potatoes inside, and the only seasoning it had was salt. You expect to get more than a hash brown at an Indian restaurant. But still, I would give it a 6 or7out of 10 for texture and taste – how could a fried potato taste bad? Then comes the Palak Paneer, which was the second option recommended when they didn’t have the eggplant bhartha available. Oh my God, theyhad cream on top and it was one of the strangest/weirdest tasting dishes I have had. These people knew nothing about cooking. The breads came with alot of butter, but were OK.What’s funny is the owner/manager guy came and asked me how the food was. I said it was good, what else am I going to say, but how can you serve food like this with a straight face and then ask people how it tastes? (LOL, it is paradoxical, you care enough to ask, but not enough to make it right – so in other words, you only care about the money, nothing else)What pissed me off was I noticed that the owner who sat me down and provided me with the menu was giving a different menu along with the regular menu to other customers that came after me.While paying my bill, I asked what was on the othermenu, andnoticed that ithad reasonably priced combos, which they had failed to tell me about and deliberately hidfrom me in order to get a higher total. I asked why they didn’t provide me with the menu and the server said because usually they only provide it to white people, which was a lie since I had seen them providing the same menu to Indian customers in my presence.Bad food, unethical people. Do a poor service to Indian food and the Indian community. I should mention despite having a large Indian/South Asian community, the Greater Vancouver Area has only a handful of decent Indian restaurants, and I think it is precisely the propensity to put money/margins over other priorities that hinders the owners of these restaurants to come up with good food and good service.Overall Summary:Palak Paneer : 2/10Aloo tikki: 6.5/10Tandoori Roti: 4/10 Gobi Parantha: 5/10Service: 1/10, the 1 is because they asked how the food was and were generally polite (while misleading me and providing me with sub-par food)Ethics: Little or none, in business to make a quick buck without providing an adequate amount of service or a decent product.

Made with love. Ordered the daal makhni, chana masala, and butter chicken with garlic naan(medium spice – I enjoy spice so this was perfect) and it was absolutely delicious. You could tell a lot of care was put into cooking each dish and very well balanced on the palette.

Along with a group of our friends, my wife and I have eaten at this restaurant almost every week for the last year. In our opinion Spice Kings has the best curry in Surrey! The lunch combo with choice of two curries, naan and rice is fantastic in both value and flavour! Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Indian cuisine at an affordable price. The butter chicken is phenomenal!!
