Food used to be really good at Hanaya. The last few times I visited, however, the rice on some of the sushi rolls has been stale and the tuna sashmi tastes old. The service is slow, sometimes 40 mins between ordering and receiving our food. The owner has also been indifferent to complaints about poor service and food quality. Oh well, the search for good sushi in Surrey continues……

The food there is really cheap and delicious. Their owner is a really nice and friendly guy. I really enjoy the inner design of the restaurant. Definitely worth to try.
We went there a second time this past Monday, and unfortunately our visit wasn’t nearly as good as our first. The miso soup and appetizer tempura were good, but our rolls (negitoro, spicy tuna, dynamite) were mediocre. Sad to say, we won’t be coming back. P.S. We only went here because Maguroguy was closed.
Had a great first impression of this place and will definitely be trying them again. Enjoyed both the spicy tuna roll and the awesome roll. Also tried the phili roll but it was just okay. They also suprised us by giving us a complimentary deep fried cali roll, which wasn’t bad especially for being free. Staff was very attentive too.
Hanaya sushi is a great sushi restaurant but it does have its faults. Most of their seafood is fresh and delivered daily except for the ahi tuna. The tuna, which came for part of the nigiri set seemed watery and stale. Food preparation is sometimes sloppy but understandable seeing how it gets very busy during dinner service. Other than the tuna and the preparation, I simply cannot say anything bad about this place. Great sushi, affordable prices and good service, this restaurant has everything. I would highly recommend stopping by and if you do, definitely try their specialty rolls.
Great business Great Food. We live up the street and have been going here for 3 years. Not only is their food amazing but the people working there are so friendly and hard working. That in itself is hard to find! We’re moving and we will miss this little sushi place so much! Best sushi in white rock south surrey (we’ve tried them all!)
