Pretty good food. I’ve come to accept that Indian restaurants will follow a set formula, where the curries are cooked in some sort of generic cream sauce, and all taste kind of similar. Spicy Greens was pretty decent with those expectations in mind. The pakoras are actually really good, came out hot, and very crispy (almost like tempura). The curries were cream based/tomato based (not authentic Indian food), but were good. Some places really skimp on the chicken and vegetables, but this was decent. Good place to try dosas as well.
We ordered about 6 dishes, butter chicken, lamb biyurani and a few others, the portions of meat in the dishes would not have fed one person, let alone sharing with 3 others, hiding the meat in a good portion of sauce won’t fool anyone. Flavors were disappointing also, spicy with no real flavor. the veggie pakora was just sliced red onion dipped in batter and fried. Not the same as veg pakora’s we had in that same restaurant a year ago. Overall disappointed. Too bad, we would have ordered again, the restaurant is just down the road, would have been a nice alternative for dinner on a regular basis.
Excellent food, friendly service, and a clean, well maintained dining area. I was fairly surprised with how empty Spicy Greens was when I went in. It was around a dinner time but my friend and I were the only people in the restaurant. The food was excellent. Authentic, hot, and very generous portions. The menu has a lot of options, and it’s vegetarian friendly. Definitely a place to try if you like Indian food.
The food is delicious and they’re super fast! They’re not offering delivery anymore I don’t think but for me I don’t care cuz its a quick drive there and well worth it for the delicious food! Always smiling and nice when I come to pick up too. Recommended!!!
Very dedicated to their custtomers. I got my order quick to my door, their debit machine didn’t work she told me I could get it next time! I love this place!20 Oct, 2013I gave my order at 3, and they had no delivery driver I was fine with that, I called back to say I needed debit for delivery, and. They said it would be 20 min! Free delivery and they really care about their customer base! Great curry 2
Stale/Burnt. I ordered there last night, and not only was the lady on the phone very rude (the free delivery is not actually delivery if you are in College Heights… we had to pick up our food or we weren’t getting it), when we got our food it was old, at least thats how it tasted. I have ate there before and been very impressed but last night was bad. The Papadam was extremely stale, to the point it didn’t even break, and tasted like it had been sitting out over night, we couldn’t eat it. When we opened the rice container there were bits of burnt rice mixed throughout, as if it was cooked for too long and the burnt stuff off the bottom was mixed in with the rest. However, all that being said, the butter chicken we ordered was delicious (as it always is) but the Kurma didn’t have much taste. It’s a shame, but since there are many different indian restaurants in Prince George, after my last nights experience, I will not order from there again. 🙁
The food here is authentic! I was pleasantly surprised by the freshness and quality. Although the presentation and service is average, the food makes up for it! I had the eggplant curry, delicious!
