Ive been here a couple of times & both times found it just a shade below what is to be expected – not bad – but just below. The wonton prawns, were very nicely cooked but left a bit of greasy after taste. Pulled pork sandwhich was also well flavored but rather dry. The soups & chicken wings are quite yum
Just a Pub, and Not the Most Interesting One in Squamish. This place is nothing special- just a pub and sports bar, kind of dull inside, no view or nice setting. I prefer the Howe Sound or the Watershed atmosphere. The menu is very blah, dull pub food, and what we ordered was not very good- a lamb wrap that was very strange and a salad (not many other healthy options). For being so close to Vancouver, I would expect more creative, fresh options.
Love it! Always come here and have great experiences, however last time I was there I ordered the beef dip (one of my favourite meals) and it was so unbelievably raw, I have never had such uncooked food served to me before. Have not been back since.
It’s a must stop on your way to Whistler. I went to visit a buddy and his wife in Squamish for lunch and they took me to The Shaddy Tree Pub. His parents actually use to live in a little shabby house where the restaurant now sits when they first got married 40 years ago which I thought was a pretty cool story. My buddy was ranting about the wings to me for days before so I just had to try them but when we got to the pub he was worried he had over-advertised them hahaha. It was pretty funny but I have to say they were really good wings and I’d order them again forsure. I had the suicide and they were screaming hot! I don’t think I’ll go that hot next time. We also shared the crab and shrimp stuffed mushroom caps which were very good. It’s just so nice to get what you pay for.The restaurant is a log cabin building and all wood inside and I would compare it to Hooters with that same sports theme. No Hooters girls but the server was excellent, friendly and fast. Being a pub it’s not family friendly but it was quite busy with 19 year olds to seniors. A woman was celebrating her birthday and I’d say she was in her 90’s maybe even 100 years old it was pretty cute and the pub has a nice vibe and an enjoyable place to be with good food. I think I’m going to call my buddy’s parents and see if they’d like to meet for lunch at The Shaddy Tree next Sunday :).
