This is actually really good sushi.. Their sushi rice was actually prepared correctly, with the right amount of rice vinegar and sugar. Most sushi places in Greater Vancouver don’t get this right, and so when I noticed it, I knew this place was legit. Their tempura batter was authentic too – a little chewier than the other mediocre sushi places. This is how tempuras in Japan are actually like (no surprise as Peekaboo is owned by Japanese people). This was a great find and a gem; would recommend.

Wonderful Japanese Restaurant!. Tucked away in the Town Centre Mall is this delightful Japanese restaurant. The Lunchbox, a tray with a number of compartments filled with different items, is the best we’ve ever had! Everything is delicious! Also of note is their tempura, they have a light touch with the batter. You can’t go wrong choosing the prawns or the prawns and vegetable tempura. Also excellent are their gyoza. We think so highly of the place, we are inviting friends for a special birthday celebration.
They’re Pretty Good.. Decent Japanese bistro, however I do like the fact that the chefs and manager are actually Japanese. Good service, good food, nothing great but it’s not bad at all. Very casual place.
Decent Sushi. I find that Sushi in the Lower Mainland has grades like any restaurant. There are cheap greasy spoons, family dining, better quality family dining, then fancier restaurants of higher prices and quality.I would classify Peekaboo as a family dining sushi. Their prices are affordable and the quality is above mall sushi. I wouldn’t rate them higher because their rice is just sticky instead of the glossy seasoned rice that is typical of sushi. The menu is standard and the service is very good. Very friendly. I can go in with two young children very easily. If we go, it tends to be for lunch as I prefer a higher grade sushi for dinner or occasions.
Bistro Peekaboo. I love this place…. food is consistently good. Prices are in line, and service is always good.
