Petra’s has had new owners for about 8 months. It’s only the name that’s unchanged. The interior has been modernized and cleaned beyond recognition, in a good way. It looks much more open and bright, the menue list is clear and easy to read. The coffee is actually good now, several different blends are on offer, and special offerings were available at Christmas. It’s somewhere I actually suggest to meet with friends now. The staff appear to me to be happier and the atmosphere is for me nicer. They do nice soups and light lunch offerings at lunch time. And, did an event for the local animal shelter last week, nice to see.If you haven’t been there recently, give it a try, I think you may be presently surprised.
I can’t believe this is the worst experience this guy has ever had in his life. Clearly he’s never left the house. If they were six minutes to closing and he couldn’t get coffee he should have said ok. And gone across the street to Starbucks without writing this scathing review for no reason. The only thing I can determine from this cat … Is he’s an idiot.
You know when a business owner or manager has a very obvious philosophy not related to customer service or the products they sell??If you’re not sure what I mean, come to Petra’s cafe! It’s definatly not all about the coffee or food.
Terrible Experience. I will never go to Petra’s again for anything. I found the girls who worked behind the counters to do a half ass job. They didn’t roll their eyes but they had an attitude. I called ahead to see if we can paint ceramics the girl who answered the phone said yes to everything I asked. So we showed up and there was hardly a selection on things to choose from ( which I asked if they had a large selection of things to choose from) and they girl helping us with the colours she poured the colours and then left and didn’t come back to see if we needed more. She was busy making herself something to eat and complaining she had to go to her next job and she was tired. As a customer I don’t need to hear the problems of your employees. I noticed alot of the the girls working their on there phones. Very unprofessional. It was been over a month and I still don’t have what we painted ( I did ask in the phone call how long it would take to get the ceramics back it was not this long). They said they needed a manager to get the finished ceramics. Just another excuse. The food is not all that great very home style and no effort put in by the employees. And the restrooms were atrocious just not very clean!!!!
Petra’s is a Gem!. One of the best little gems in Tsawwassen. Food is great, prices are reasonable and the service is excellent. Try out their breakfast sandwiches only a few dollars for egg, cheese & either ham or bacon on an english muffin put in a panini press. SO good!
What a waste of a terrific space. Their service is terrible and uninspired. Their food is generic and clearly not fresh-made. Next time I want proper food, amazing coffee, and a terrific family-owned warmth and experience.. I’ll head less than a block away to 56th street Bakery and Cafe! I had such a warm, over-helpful experience there. You can tell it’s family owned and run.
Skimming the tip jar!. The owners of this Cafe haven’t an ounce of class… they keep the tips from the tip jar that the servers earn and don’t share with these employees. What kind of organization is this? In this day and age, they should be held accountable by appreciating their serving staff. The young people, who are mostly student, work hard for those tips, which they earn all on their own….. I would boycott this place until they start treating their servers with respect by dividing up the tip jar amoungst those who are earning them!!
