Well watching the cook pull out a bag of meet from the freezer and throw in the microwave was not the most appealing thing to watch before your $12 dinner. the rice was mush, the meat was thin, untasteful and didn’t look good at all. Miso soup tasted like miso soup but was covered with seeweed making it hard to drink without taking a slimy gulp of weeds. Was hoping for a good dinner tonight but Bento Sushi totally ruined that.Will never come back and hope that this review will steer othera away.
I am gonna keep it short here. Bento Sushi at UBC is one of the very few Japanese restaurants that are not up to the Vancouver sushi standard while charging Vancouver prices. You can tell the cooks are not well-trained. The sushi was soggy and flavorless. For those of you that want sushi on campus, i recommend that you go to the Nest or the village food court.
