I recently learned this place is now has a new owner and it is called Agra Tandoori Express, in association with Agra Tandoori in Burnaby. I gave it a try because I am always in the area, and i was pleasantly surprised with how good an fresh the food tasted. They have a lot of options for vegetarians as well, their samosas are also the best I have had. Also they deliver with Uber Eats and Skip the Dishes which is convenient. I definitely plan on returning!
I came here at nine which is near closing.I got the combo with chicken curry and also Gobi. The curries themselves were decent, but the portions were a bit small. Also, the cucumbers were fresh and added alot to the meal. However, the rice and naan were subpar. Some of the rice was hard and it was not fresh at all. Also the naan seemed store bought and was pretty dry and hard. This place is probably better earlier in the day, but from my experience I wouldn’t recommend it.
Craving for Samosa, I went to Maurya Express at University Village today. Although I knew that the price would be way expensive (2.36$/piece, elsewhere I could buy 3), I couldn’t resist. The lady there microwaved the samosa, and there occurred this disaster. What I had in hand was a lump with crumbled pieces of fried dough and scattered potatoes. Until today, I have had thousands of samosas in every corners of the globe, but I must admit that this experience with Maurya was the worst one of all.Just because there is no 0 in the rating, and that I have to share my horrible experience I rate minimum.
Meh. Sometimes butter chicken is great but most of the time it tastes like tomato sauce. also, the salad is pointless
