Walking towards the door I notice a sign saying cash only, I look at my wallet to see how much cash I have. ($20) I didn’t know what to expect, upon sitting down we were told the menu was on the board and let him know what we would like to order. After deciding, I told him I only had $20 and If it was enough cash for the things we wanted to try. After calculating the amount, it was perfect for the grandpa and uptown. The food was very good, although a the sausage seemed as if they were sitting and warmed up because the items were warm and slightly dry possibly from the morning as when we showed up at ~12:30 PM the place was empty all the way until we left ~1:15 PM. The hash browns seemed as if they were old too, not very crispy and slightly soggy with a warm temperature. The highlight of this place is the fruit salad, never had I had a fruit salad in a restaurant that good. Wow, well done.

I love this place! I come here almost every weekend, friendly staff and a cute hostess/waitress on some Sundays. Food is the best for the dollar. I recommend ordering the secret menu item: The Heart Attack

Tried it out once because it looked busy for weekday morning. Interesting concept and you do feel like your at at someone’s home. Place tends to attract artistic customers like on Main St in Vancouver. But after a while I start to wonder why am I paying more than $10 for breakfast and coffee when I could just go to a normal dine in with full service place where I get matching utensils and having my food cooked from a professional kitchen. The kitchen consist of old white stove and some household countertop appliances. I’m not knocking the idea but the price should reflect the value.

Needs a serious revamp.. You can tell the people behind the counter aren’t happy to be there, and that combined with the lack of ventilation (you will leave smelling like you’ve been deep fried) does not a good breakfast make. This place used to be amazing and full of life, but it’s just not anymore. It seems like they have lost the passion and drive. The espresso machine broke months ago, and it hasn’t been replaced (not so good, for a cafe). The food is better when they are in cheerful moods… and that says something! Please find the love again!

Consistently good food, whimsical and fun atmosphere, very personable staff. Have had breakfast/brunch here on a number of occasions and have enjoyed the warm welcome and tasty food each and every time. What’s good; the Eggs Benny and the hashbrowns are fantastic… We have often requested a mixed version to get one of each of their offerings, instead of two of one kind. Love the adaptive service in this regard – want something a bit different; if there can accommodate the request, they’ll do it! Will be back!

New Westminster’s Best Cafe. I heard a lot about Coming Home and only checked it out today. I’ve lived in New West for only a few years but I’m kicking myself for not finding it sooner. The atmosphere is warm and very homey; you serve your own coffee, get your own water, etcetera. You can build your own breakfast or order from the chalk menu on the wall. They’re amazing about substitutions, happy and willing to make whatever you want work for you.The food comes out quick and is absolutely delicious, with a super home-cooked feel. The staff is warm and friendly, willing to shoot the breeze with anyone who comes in and honestly make you feel like you’ve really come home.

Devine home made sandwich!. Since I have many lethal food allergies, I requested a specific sandwich and WOW, it was the best! Not many places will do that these days. I really like this quaint gem in New Westminster! Always friendly and are truly around to please the customer! Thank you for understanding my food dilemma!
