Good food, good service – 8/10. I’ve been eating at Pho Chung Nam before they replaced management and the current owner is doing it right. I usually order their Vietnamese rice dishes with grilled pork or chicken along side with an meat cake and springrolls. I enjoy the food and it reminds me of eating at home. Their pho is pretty good, however the Bun Bo Hue lacks true spicy taste. I almost seems like they add some spice and herbs to their Pho soup instead of making a separate broth. All in all not bad.
Good food Variety. I eat here once a week and it is good basic food – especially since it offers Japanese, Vietnamese, and Chinese cuisine. Spicy wings and Hot and Sour soup are as good as any in Vancouver’s Chinatown. (I grew up in east Vancouver) Service is friendly and quick. Pho soup might not be the best – pho restaurants all they do is cook soup. Here is a nice selection of Asian foods for suburbanites – cook to your clients. It’s not 4 star, so get over it. It is honest comfort food – try the wonton with Vietnamese sub sandwich. Give it a chance and don’t be snobbish.
