Our favourite bread & deli.. We love all the potato breads..they can’t declare it 100% gluten free, but they get so close to pure that we often buy it, not only for ourselves but also for family on the Island and in the South Peace who are gluten sensitive. It freezes well, toasts well, and tastes good!! Just phone ahead with an order & it’s there ready for you!

Works for us. I keep reading about all these bad reviews of this bakery and their potato bread. There is a big sign right on their bread case that claims the bread is not gluten free. The ingredients are, but it is baked in a gluten kitchen therefore there is always a chance of cross contamination. My kids and I all have celiac and are very prone to becoming terribly ill with cross contamination. But we have not yet had any issues when consuming the potato flax or onion bread. And for those who are not aware, it is also sold through pre order from a health food store in Langley called Rustic Roots. On their website they will tell you it is made with a gluten free wheat but not in a gluten free environment. Hope this helps those of you trying to know what to believe.

It works for many. I see people saying there has to be wheat in this bread. I have many friends who buy this bread including myself. My son gets a stuffed up nose and belly cramps from Gluten. We changed to the Potato Flax Bread from Sixth Ave and he has had no problems since. Can’t be psychosomatic as he is 6. If you don’t want it, don’t go there. Leave it alone for those of us it works for.

Gluten Free?. I see some comments on here about how the dough is brought in an frozen and has wheat, and some references to the New West Health dept. But does anybody actually have any proof of these allegations? How does the poster know that the dough comes in frozen and contains wheat? Is there somebody at the Health Dept who can confirm this?I’d like to know, because I buy bread from here for my kids, and they haven’t shown any adverse reactions

GLUTEN FREE BREAD. For those of you buying the Potato Flax and Onion Flax bread because you are under the assumption it is gluten free and wheat free, you need to stop right now, the owner is a bald faced liar. I have done my homework on this, not only does he not make the bread, the bread comes in frozen, he does bake it, the first ingredient in this bread is wheat flour. He gets around this by saying he cannot say it is gluten free because of cross contamination. I have had verification of this from the New Westminster Health Dept. He has had complaints before. It is a shame that the owner of such a store would lie out and out to his customers. I am furious.

I will never shop there again. It is very dirty in that store. The lady at the cash was so rude. The most unfriendly person I have ever met.
