Its my first time to try Malaysian food and the experienced was great. The food was delicious and very tasty but very very expensive! The restaurant has a nice interior but limited space. First time experience is fine, so I will not go back here.

We ordered four different plates. We loved the green beans and fried rice. The Indian noodles and curry we re satisfactory as was the banana dessert. Thank you for the tasty food which made for an enjoyable evening.

Have eaten here twice, once in the restaurant and the other time take out. The good: take out service was good, and overall their spice blends and flavour combinations are complex, and make the dishes interesting. The bad: every single dish we’ve had has been super salty, and many dishes lack in acid/tanginess (is that a word?) so it comes off as tasting bland despite the fantastic spice blends. If they fixed these simple problems their food would be amazing.

Was here a few years back and had good memories. Decided to call late Friday morning and reserve for lunch at 1:30 with a couple co-workers. We arrived around 1:35. Place was completely full and the staff looked around worriedly for a moment before finding a newly-vacated table and quickly cleaning it for us.The kitchen was closing at 2:30, so time was of the essence. My co-workers both opted for the Malaysian laksa, I chose the Singapore laksa, and we ordered the roti canai and vegetarian samosas to share. Appies arrived promptly. The slightly greasy roti and curry dip hit the spot as did the crispy-outside, soft-yummy-inside samosas. Laksas arrived quickly as well and were equally tasty. Delicious broths bursting with savoury seafood flavors, noodles arriving slightly undercooked, but reaching perfection as you slurp the broth and chew on the delicious shrimp and fish cakes. All in all, the perfect meal for a miserable, rainy late-winter afternoon. (Note the attached menu’s prices are out of date; laksas were $10, not $9, appies were $8, not $7. Still quite reasonable.)

This was not as good as everyone thinks. Their soups have almost no meet in them. Mine was supposed to come with shrimp and had only 2 small ones in the whole bowl. The service was not good either. Unless you come for lunch when it’s cheaper, it’s not worth it. Go anywhere else if you can

Have never tried Malaysian food. I now love it and will be going back to Tamarind Hill. I thought the turmeric chicken roti wrap was so delicious with the curry sauce. Also tried the shrimp coconut milk laksa. Definitely going back to this place soon.

The place is not big, so reservation recommended. We ordered the char Kueh teow, or fried rice noodle, and a samba chilli combo of okra, egg plant, green bean with shrimp. The rice noodle was soft but not sticky. A little less soya sauce would be perfect. The combo was fantastic. Keep in mind that the portions are small.
